May 6th 2011 11:23AM Are the bosses already available to test on the PTR, or will there be a release schedule?
Feb 11th 2011 3:25PM The narrow definitions of spec/class=specific assigments are very much loosened. However, certain classes have more tools for a specific assignment:
Paladins, for instance, have great single target heals, and coupled with fewer group/raidwide tools, tend to do well as tank healers. However, they can still spot raid heal.
Priests can do either. Holy priests have many tools to heal the entire raid (Circle of Healing, Prayer of Healing, etc) but can be excelent tank healers if assigned. Chakra: Serenty helps along with inspiriation, Surge of light, and Holy word: Serenity. Discipline priests have much stronger bubbles, can now keep grace (+heal buff) on multiple targets and have Power word barrier to mitigate raidwide damage if the mechanics allow for stacking. Discipline priests excell at single target, but have many tools to heal the group/raid.
I am less familiar with druids/shamen, however in my raid, the druid excells at keeping the tank up while sprinking the raid with liberal heals.
So who's the "best"? I'm sure it changes per encounter. You'll never go wrong having a holy priest for raidwide healing, and a druid, and a paladin which is what my group runs.
However, and this is why I clicked the link, my new guild doesn't do healing assignments. I quit in WotLK from a "hardcore" guild that had heal leads. Now I'm in a 10 man casual guild (3 hours wed, 4 hours sunday). I must say that I miss the security that comes with healing assignments, but we're downing content okay. I wonder if healing assignements just matter more @ the 25 man level. @ 10, because there's only 3 of us, everyone covers everything. It's understood that the paladin usually covers the main tank and the druid covers the off tank with their butter spells (Bacon, and whatever the druid has)
As a holy priest I roll renew on the tank, and now I shield during mangle and whatnot, but I'm getting used to healing more free flow. I wonder what assignments would do, though....
Dec 23rd 2010 12:03PM I was just thinking of getting this mouse.
Mar 22nd 2009 4:09PM people complained in BC because even though there were items that were different, they were all mis-colored. it looked stupid.
Everyone who complains wants the same thing: interesting-looking items. They want to look cool. No one is complaining that the items in Wotlk don't look cool, it's that there are only a couple of them in the game.
They can't all be as cool as tier 6. Man I loved those priest shoulders.
Mar 12th 2009 1:14PM Achievement points are NOT a currency! They are a SCORE! You can't spend your hi-score in PAC-MAN, why would you be able to here?
I spend a month trying to explain this to my guild: " Hey look a a number that increases! It must be currency! Whaaaa, I can't spend it!"
Certain achievements unlock items/tabbards. I'm good with that. But not as a currency.
Mar 11th 2009 11:22AM I'm pretty sure that this is an infrastructure issue. Notice that whenever you transfer a character to a new server, nothing in the mailbox xfers over with them.
I'm pretty sure that this is on their backburner's backburner, though. Right behind dances, New druid forms, and adding DK loot to Tiers 1-3.
I'm kidding about that last one. Maybe.
