The Geek Beat: Only The Lonely {Cinematical}

Apr 21st 2010 4:49AM Ok, I just HAVE to comment on this even though I have not seen the movie yet:

"This is evident because of what you said. You blatantly ignored the actual lines in the movie where the character talks about "promising her that he will stop." He does this because he finally has someone he cares for. It has nothing to do with him "getting laid and losing interest." Others have already pointed this out to you and you still can't see it."

Your essentially saying he gets laid, falls for the girl, & and wants to make things right. In other words he gets P-whipped, which has happened to me, my friends, and numerous other guys on this planet. That includes removing ANYTHING that otherwise may not work with the girl, even a geek lifestyle.

The Best of the Decade: The Comic Book Flicks {Cinematical}

Dec 19th 2009 2:48AM Yes I do. But that doesn't mean it needs to look like Chicago. The city looked considerably different between the two films.

The Best of the Decade: The Comic Book Flicks {Cinematical}

Dec 19th 2009 1:13AM I agree with the list, except maybe Dark Knight. I honestly did not like that nearly as much, specifically for the fact that they turned Gotham into Chicago. I personally believe the Gotham should've remained that dark, fictional place with the major high-tech tram system and huge Wayne buildings that Batman Begins potrayed.

However, I know you have the first 4 or so ranked so close it's hard to tell. There are good points from all those films.

Batman Begins was great due to the concept, the beginning. How it all started it one of the things that strikes me in a Super Hero movie, which usually is always the winner for me. The sequels to me are more of that extra content that I want after I starve for the IP itself. It kind of goes the same way for almost every other genre film as well.

Iron Man was great. RDJ made that movie what it is, otherwise it might've sucked. The battle at the end actually was pretty ridiculous. There's a such thing as too much motion. Actually make me a tad sick in the theater. Lately a lot of films have been cutting video in nano seconds way too much to the point where I can't watch them without my eyes hurting.

300 was artistic. In fact that movie could've easily been a silent film and even more amazing. The imagery, sound, and music sold that film more than than the story or dialogue to me.

Also I probably would've picked Spidey 1 over 2. They are really close, but to me the initial development of the character is needed in super hero films. Plus..I mean...William DaFoe? Need I say more?

WoW Moviewatch: The Way of Life {WoW}

Sep 2nd 2008 5:16PM Viewers,

I'd talked to the author about storyboarding in his works, and it's something that he improves on, and wants to improve on more. Stuff like that takes trial and error really.

However, time is not what he had. When it comes to the editing and effects in this film, the work to me is a serious accomplishment. The Wegame contest specifically stated that you CANNOT create the entry outside of the contest dates (Aug 1st, to Aug 31st at 23:59) so creating this in just one month to me is impressive, not to mention is was actually less than that because he had to deliver a final cut to myself and the sound designer.

Of course, my opinion could be considered biased since I'm a part of it, but the fact is the reason why I do his films is because they have a very high production quality to them. It's only a matter of time before the storyboarding is perfected.

I'm glad most of you liked the score.

WoW Moviewatch: Cooking with Ethnea, Episode 1 {WoW}

Aug 17th 2008 12:25PM It isn't really meant to be a comedy at all. The fact is, it's a cooking show built into machinima. Those kodo steaks are a real recipe you can cook (of course replacing the kodo steaks with...steak)

There are a number of people that thought this was an interesting idea, and had actually got them interested in cooking.

WoW Moviewatch: The Little Gnome {WoW}

Aug 13th 2008 4:28PM It should be noted that the music was not scored for this film in general. I scored the music originally for "The Ugly Goblins Christmas" by Firebolt Productions, which is a very similar story.
