Dec 11th 2008 10:47PM The 2GB per process limit is a Windows restriction, not a 32 bit CPU limit. 32 bits is the register width and not the address width which is actually 36 bits(64GB).
Windows XP and Vista have a memory limit of 4GB. That was a choice made by Microsoft. In Windows XP, you are limited to 2GB per process, so even if you have 4 GB installed, the maximum amount of RAM available for a user process is 2 GB. The rest is reserved for the system's use. This can be tweaked if you modify your boot.ini file to use up to 3GB max per process.
Nov 18th 2008 12:50PM I'm leveling up as Prot. I've done all of the quests in both starter zones and both secondary zones, so far.
There was a total of one quest reward (chest piece) in the starter zones (Howling Fjord) that had defense on it. It is annoying to see multiple sets of the same gear dropping for ret pallies. Do you want haste, crit, armor penetration, hit, expertise, less of those, but more HP? I feel like the kid that woke up on Christmas and only got cobalt ore in his stocking, so I ended up making myself a set of the blacksmith defense gear that worked fairly nice.
Grizzly Hills has a sweet reward for the group quest Ursoc, the Bear God. It is soloable by prot pallies if you have the druid act as a healer. You get blue leggings and a nice shield. The Hour of the Worg quest will get you a nice blue shoulder item, but you will probably need help with it. I did it with a ret pally and we cruised through, but the Shade is a slight challenge.
The Kalu'ak have a nice chest piece that you can get at Honored and level 76.
There is also a nice BS set that starts in the mid-70's but it costs a lot on AH at the moment. There are also some rewards for quests in instances.
I thought about leveling up as ret, but with all the competition for pulls, I really enjoy being able to instantly fling my shield.
Nov 12th 2008 11:54PM They say they loves us, then they hit us with a bat, but say they will make it up to us. We want to believe them, so we agree to stay.
Paladins have a lot in common with abused housewives.
Nov 11th 2008 9:13PM "Syndri tells us that they are doing more internal testing before bringing the realms back up."
That's a great idea. Maybe they should do some of that before applying a patch to the live servers. They seem to be having a lot of bizarre effects when patching live servers lately. Things which should have been caught with some basic testing.

Nov 8th 2008 1:09PM I'd buy that for a dollar
Nov 8th 2008 1:01AM As a former soldier, I seem to remember the oath being along the lines of "I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic." So their mandate includes things at home.
I don't understand the fear of the Army by many liberals. It was mostly a buerocratic mess when I served, a few great soldiers and a lot of people trying to get by. The latter probably just wants an excuse to play WoW while they should be working.
Nov 8th 2008 12:38AM I really don't care for this idea. Most people will select a crafting profession based on the reward they stand to achieve. Isn't that obvious? If you remove the reward, there is no reason to keep the profession. It sounds like they don't want blacksmiths, leatherworkers or tailors, because all the other professions have some great stuff, still. Are they naive, or am I? Maybe I should just roll every toon as a enchanter/jewelcrafter/inscriber so I don't get outdated in the next xpac.
Nov 7th 2008 2:23AM mmmmm, phat lootz
Nov 7th 2008 2:13AM This seems like a huge waste of taxpayer money, unless they are using trial accounts.
Anyway, shouldn't they be focusing on the regiment of Fel Reavers instead? We have a war to win, people. We just have to get that manual from Dr. Maleficus and the world will be ours.
