Apr 24th 2010 1:30PM When I read the change I immediately thought of obsidian destroyer from DotA, one of my favorite heroes, yet I noticed no one else seems to get the connection? In essence one of his spells used a percentage of his mana as bonus damage and another spell had a chance to return mana per cast. Was a pretty fun build. Does anyone else thinksomething like that would work?
Feb 12th 2010 7:37PM 10 - 25 man raids killed it for me. I know that many won't like that statement but it is true for me and perhaps people could understand why I feel like this.
I quit WoW about 4 months ago. All interest had disintrigated. For me raiding had been an "epic" experience. That was why I played WoW, to escape life. I enjoyed those who I raided with, and I enjoyed a sense of accomplishment when downing bossess. Even in BC content still managed to feel epic, if anything because it required an effort that felt like a very real collaboration of players. My guild was a casual group, but I enjoyed it's company, even when not raiding. For us, and for me, raiding was not the "central" aspect of wow. When we raided it was considered a big deal, often my guild would ban together with other groups to experience challenging encounters. That's what made WoW for me.
Them WotLK comes. I was hooked, my "casual" guild was hooked. But the facilitation of raiding had it's drawbacks. Soon raiding became expected. On nights when no raid would occur, no one would log on. It quickly became a job. Sure downing kelthuzad or mimiron was fun, but when the norm became downing bosses and getting loot, and not the journey that accompanied such endeavors I was compelled to stop.
I understand the point of 10 - 25 man content: to male raiding more manageable for guilds. My complaint is the transition that occured where gear and firsts became more important then solid teamwork.
Sorry If this sounds like a qq post, it was not supposed to be. I just felt the need to share my story and shed a little light on the thinking of people like me, who really miss 40 man content, and other "epic", albeit brain smashing content.

Jul 21st 2008 12:52AM How does this build look? I sort of came upon it a couple minutes ago and i think it has what would be some very nice Main Tank healing qualities. Probably could use some twinking though.
Jul 3rd 2008 12:44PM Wasnt there some mention about Orgrimmar getting destroyed, or something along those lines. I cant remember exactly though.

Jun 4th 2008 5:09PM I am a great DotA fan, as well as an acitve WoW player. I love both games very much and would be overjoyed to see these games merge in a BG. However I just dont understand how they can keep the DotA style game play with heroes that start out at a different range of gear.
In response to someone elses comment, what if this
DotA based BG was sort of like a chess event in Karazhan? It would have much potential if you allow the players pick a certain character and fight with him. Now I do understand that this would sort of take out the fun of a BattleGround since your character is not the one that is actually doing the combat. But it would still make for an interesting mode of play. Perhaps it could take the place of a sort of event that happens once a month lasting a weekend. By doing this place you may receive honor and reputation with a faction and redeem certain tokens for awards such as armor, pets and mounts.
Any other ideas?
