Mar 9th 2012 8:17AM I sort of felt some negativity towards moonkin here as well. I think moonkin single target is really based on player skill. As someone who has played balance since Vanilla and raided in BC, Wrath, and now Cata I can say I have never had trouble with being at the top of the meters.
Recently (before the team fell apart) I was running DS 10 man with my guild team. No crit buff no Dark Intent and I have no legendary and I had no trouble being number 1 on the meters on fights like Morchok and Zannoz which have no multi targeting.
I think the issue with most players concept of moonkin "bad" single target comes from moonkin that don't maximize the output of the rotation. There are a lot of subtleties and choices that go into making the most out of the eclipse system. It differs from a lot of other classes "push this naow" rotations.
But as pyro points out the interviewee makes light of moonkin dps not being great in response to more than one question. Not necessarily hate, but definitely not to happy with the numbers put out by their moonkin.
Mar 7th 2012 8:24AM Hunter. I have rolled about 5 of them since I started playing in 2006. Farthest I have made it was level 28.
Feb 16th 2012 2:29PM Please make Demonology a tanking spec. I would play my warlock again on a regular basis if demo became a tank spec. Just make it so Demo utilizes Int for mitigation. Make metamorphosis a tank stance as you said. And if you look at the latest Mists calculator they are building toward it imo. Demonic Fury as a resource, Nether Plating, Demonic Slash, and we already have demon leap, demon charge, immolation aura. And as the calculator stands right now Metamorphosis does not display a CD cool down or duration.
Feb 2nd 2012 8:36AM That's why my moderately geared ret pally was melting faces in WSG last night. I haven't pvp'd in awhile and just assumed getting an the Echo of Baine 2 handed axe was making all the difference.
Feb 1st 2012 10:36AM Agree. Agree. Agree. No more Zuls. Please. Ever. I just spent an hour and a half in Heroic Deadmines last night on my warrior. I'll take getting griefed in LFR for doing 9k dps over an hour and a half heroic any day.
Feb 1st 2012 8:26AM This late in the expansion it just makes sense. I have 8 85's with a rogue on the way. By now I like the ability to get into Raid Finder within 24 hours of level capping. Makes having alts more fun and I'm less likely to shelve my other characters for lack of access to content.
Jan 30th 2012 10:11AM I've been vote kicked for doing obscene dps on my shaman. And I was doing my best to not pull. Really at this point with a 500% threat increase pulling shouldn't happen as often as it does. I end up Off Tanking in LFR a lot. I tanked Ultraxion this week to the point that I was using Heroic Will to clear the debuff. Thankfully it was late in the fight and the healers were awesome.
On another note I tanked normal mode Throne and Blackrock for a guildie leveling a healing alt. I was on my 85 DK in dps gear doing 70% of the damage. The people we were with were very happy.
Jan 27th 2012 9:34AM Meeting someone in WoW is no different than online dating which in the past decade has gained extreme popularity. I think one of the major differences with WoW is that you immediately have something in common to connect you.
Great story and thanks for sharing!
Jan 27th 2012 9:31AM I have examples from both sides.
I got an ex girlfriend into playing while we were dating and we are still friends and in the same guild though we now live 1,000 miles apart.
When I recently moved to a new city I worked at Game Stop for a spell and two of my co-workers played. Added them on Real ID and now we chat from time to time in game even though I don't work there anymore.
Lastly, I started playing in 2006 and in 2007 joined my first big guild. I met a guy in that guild and we hung out all the time online. Leveled some toons together and just did whatever. Long story short when I recently relocated he also subsequently moved to the same city about 6 months after I did. Now not only do we still play in the same guild we now hang out in real life as well.
WoW is a great tool for meeting people and I feel it fits into a unique social niche. Even though the majority of people don't understand how large the social aspect actually is.
