Apr 4th 2012 8:50AM Spirit of Competition, means a ton to me because I was in China shortly before the Olympics, and it took me a while to get the pet.
Feb 10th 2011 8:40AM Agreed that this was a really bad idea. This makes the "Exalted" title meaningless, since by this logic you'd have to go re-earn it every expansion. Ya, that's not going to happen. About the dumbest idea I've seen in a while.
Dec 2nd 2010 9:03AM For my alliance toon, the best improvements so far have been WPL and EPL. The Caravan storyline in EPL was amazing, and it totally sucked me in. I got to the end and was totally worried about how it would end, and didn't want it to end the wrong way.
Sep 9th 2010 3:20PM Then there's the whole question of staves. I see plenty of elemental shaman using Nibelung.
Jul 12th 2010 1:51PM I'm sure the mass summon ability will end up with a limiter of not being able to be used in BG's or in enemy capital cities
Jul 10th 2010 9:15AM I also level a lot. I've got 7 lvl 80's myself.
I think the difficulty you're seeing is exactly why Blizzard is remaking old world. Running out of quest hubs and not knowing where to quest next is a problem that was pretty much eliminated by TBC and LK. Come Cataclysm we should see that better design come to old world, and I'm looking forward to leveling my last 3 character slots in that world.
Jan 27th 2010 9:27AM Nice guide, great job. One comment in regards to leveling, I agree trying to level as elemental is painful in old world, but I really found it quite easy when I got to outland. I juggled around between enhancement and resto and elemental pre-58 and there just wasn't enough gear to make anything but enhancement worth playing. Thankfully that changes pretty quick when you get the HFP.
Dec 21st 2009 9:57AM I never minded OK. Kinda enjoyed it. Of course I usually play a healer or a mail-wearing shaman, so the insanity phase is pretty easy. Just keep myself alive or lava burst 1-shot my teammates with an evil cackle.
Occulus is still a major pain. And no one want to run it. I was in a run where the tank left partway in. We then waited as FIVE tanks joined, saw it was Occ and then dropped. I don't know what Blizzard can do to make this instance any easier though. Times I've run it since patch it's complete cake if you know what the gimmicks are.
In regards to the tank/healer shortage. I'm seeing it on tanks for sure. When I pull out my DK he's in a random instantly. My healer used to be that way, but now I get a 30-60 second wait most of the time. I think people are pulling out their heal specs and gearing those up because they know it gets them into an instance faster. Tanks however don't seem to be more plentiful yet.
Of course, that goes to the whole question of what can Blizzard do to make tanking more attractive. It's a thankless task, difficult and full of frustration. You need an abundance of patience, and a small dash of "crazy" to want to tank all the time.
Dec 18th 2009 3:21PM Best of luck to you going forward and thank you for all the hard work you've put in over the years!
Dec 14th 2009 9:31AM Something I couldn't figure out yesterday.... I wanted to chain run 'normal' Forge of Souls for the tanking mace. However, I couldn't find anyway to reset the dungeon without first queuing up and running a different dungeon. Even when I was standing right outside the instance portal, the "Reset Dungeon" option was grayed out. So I guess I need to assume that you need to totally break group to reset a normal dungeon? Anyone else have insight on this?
