Oct 8th 2009 5:19PM I'd probably bind incinerate to 5. Main spam nuke for the win.
Oct 7th 2009 5:27PM Except GC specifically mentions Corruption, SW:P and Rejuv as the three spells they want to test this with first. I give GC the benefit of the doubt here. He knows the spells get refreshed, so won't need recasting.
Oct 7th 2009 4:55PM Its a DPS increase, hands down. First, spriest and affliction locks already never recast sw:p/corruption. Thats what mind flay and haunt are for. So the spells will just do more damage per second. No increased mana usage, no extra gcds. If you get so much haste that the dot falls off before you can renew it, then there might be an issue, but the amount of haste to get a 15s corruption down to 8s is pretty scary.
Second, even if you have to renew dots, its still a dps increase. For dot specs, these dots are by far the highest damage per cast time spells. So more time spent casting those dots = more damage done.
Its a change that will definitely hep affliction locks play catchup, although I'm nto sure its enough of one to put them back in the running against destro.

Jul 27th 2009 6:21PM Definitely. After all the gear consolidation, if hunters stop using int completely, enh shamans will need to as well. Its possible enh shamans could go to a system like ret pallies where their gear has no int on it and they survive by having a low burn rate and high mana return from abilities. Of course, without int on mail, it might start to look a lot like leather and you'd have more hunters/enh shamans cherry picking leather gear, or ret pallies/warriors/dk's cherry picking mail gear.

Apr 15th 2009 6:36PM I was impressed with my 12k+ conflag crits last night while soloing, so I understand the nerf from Blizzard's perspective.
What I don't understand is that if they thought destro was balanced before the nerf, and you take away 30% of the damage of an ability that was accounting for ~20% of destro's damage means destro is now 6% in the hole. Do we get that back someplace?
At least from what they've posted, they didn't seem to think destro was too high in pve dps, which means its now way too low.
Nov 18th 2008 4:24PM Why would a gaming company (or most internet companies) bother to submit their systems to the top500 lists? Its not like the list makers have secret access to the world's computers.
As well, how do you define a 'computer'? Single system image vs. distributed. How tightly coupled, how distributed against local outages, etc. I'm sure Blizzard has a very nice server farm someplace. I suspect its also a heck of a lot smaller than you think it is when compared to serious internet or even special effect houses.
