Jun 17th 2011 6:35PM Don't bother with the gentle approach, if Y thinks that it's just 'people in the guild' who are troubled, Y may well continue to stir the pot via wsp, etc.
And it would be pretty transparent to most people where the source of the complaint originated, leaving you open to future drama.
Instead, get them both in vent, say that you don't know what's going on but its going to stop. They are there to raid and if they aren't willing to resolve the problem, they are welcome to find new spots. Don't ask for explanations or excuses, and you don't need to be a heavy about it, just be polite and firm.
Calm, assertive state!
Jun 16th 2011 8:23PM The elevator in SSC is hands-down far more dangerous in and of itself, however, the BWD elevator has the added benefit of a pool of lava full of raid boss if you've cleared up to Nef. You can enjoy watching your raid's mages and priests drift downwards, past the ledges and right into the boss for an exciting way to wipe.
Jun 16th 2011 1:12PM I bet they do similar dailies to the new firelands content when they release the expected Vash'jr raid.

Jun 13th 2011 12:57PM Arcane mages have more than one spell we can use to dps on the move.
1. Arcane Barrage
3. Ice Lance.
Of the three, only Abr does really good damage but you can pretty much spam ice lance in between your abr. I admit it would be nice to have an actual arcane spell to use instead of ice lance. I really miss scorch when I'm out of my fire spec.
Apr 22nd 2011 3:13PM One thing that caught my attention was the OP's comment that his wife's texts "Borders on the wrong side" - is it on the wrong side of inifidelity or isn't it? It is very easy to read too much into text messages, particularly when there is an emotional relationship involved.
Apr 21st 2011 12:28PM One other thing about extended lockouts..you can spend some time working on the progression boss and if not successful, reset the lockout.
I'm in a semi-casual raiding guild with a fairly short schedule and we've had the same issue - extend lockouts so we have some time to work on a boss or reset for gear. This week, we cleared BoT on our first night and had BWD on extended lockout from last week to work on Nefarion. We spent a couple of hours last night working on the fight and then because we didn't kill any bosses in BWD this week, we could reset the lockout so we could get our farm encounter drops.
Apr 18th 2011 4:18PM Or you can get a healer, tank and 2 reliable dps from your guild and run 5 mans. Fill the extra slot with a dps from trade chat on your server - it lets you have an opportunity to meet folks one-on-one without the built-in immaturity of trade chat and it lets you show people what you're all about.
It might not pay off with immediate recruits, but its that kind of networking that can lead to new blood in the long run.
Apr 12th 2011 1:32PM I lost my nerve. I'd been playing a warrior tank since vanilla and had successfully tanked just about every boss in the game since BC.
Flash forward to Wrath and a guild merger with the other top guild on the server. We'd been having a brutal progression push on heroic anubarak and as a warrior, I was the add tank. Except I kept failing. Standing in the middle of the grouped raid, I'd lose aggro on one of the 4 adds and it'd one shot a healer, or one of them would shift around behind me and one shot me. It was extremely stressful and I ended up leaving the guild and have barely tanked since.
Apr 8th 2011 4:13PM While I sympathize with Tone's position, I can't help but wonder if there was something else that happened with the first guild that was left out of the Tone's description? His former guild's reaction just seems so extreme and I couldn't help but notice the reference to toon gender later in the tale.
Please note- this isn't an advocacy or attempt to justify the former guilds' poor behavior.
