Jan 18th 2009 5:19PM The last picture, the preview of next week's guide, prompted a spit-take.
More of this!
Jan 18th 2009 2:07AM Specific to RP realms, sometimes even a cool-looking gray piece of armor (Warped Leather Pants, for example) can get you more than you'd expect on the auction house. When people are putting together clothes for roleplaying, a lot of times they're looking more at aesthetics than item quality.
And wool, from what I can tell, is highly in demand on RP servers in part because anybody can wear cloth - the lower level the item is, the more accessible it is - and tailors who have not yet reached level 20 use it to craft things like fancy shirts and robes. Jan 15th 2009 10:17AM Seems like an iffy concept. I don't think Blizzard would really want to be known to shelter stuff like hate speech.
Age-restricted realms are one idea - an impractical one as it currently stands, though who knows what they might come up with - but if "Anything Goes" would mean removing the consequences for behaving horribly in-game, that realm would be a nightmarish place for people who aren't trolls (and I'm not talking Darkspear).
Jan 11th 2009 9:08AM I usually solo or run with one or two friends, so it's always the rare, rare occasions I group for instances that I do idiotic things.
Since my usual questing partners are both casters, my pet is the only tank we have. So of course, the first time I ran an instance with a party of strangers, I left growl on, and on top of that ran out of ammo 3/4 of the way through because I'd made myself so nervous, thinking about people/places/strategies I'm not used to, that I'd forgotten to stock up. Usually I think of myself as a hunter who knows what I'm doing, but stage fright unravels me. Of course, there's no way a group of strangers is going to believe that. ;___;
Happily, I don't always humiliate myself. Today was my very first run of a Wrath instance (Halls Of Stone), and it worked out well; I kept my mouth shut, my pet on passive, and shot at what the tank was beating on. Phew!
Jan 10th 2009 3:47PM Very apt post. I was up until 10:30 in the morning playing last night. Insomniac is the plain truth; I'm a poor sleeper from way back. Nice to have something to do in the wee hours that gets me out of my own head a little.
Jan 8th 2009 6:12PM You're missing your chance, then. That quest line was the story of Sholazar, showing you both sides, and at the end, there's a quest that will get you instantly honored with one faction of your choosing. If you keep going, you'll get where you wanted to go. If you stop, you just won't.
If you do keep going on the chain, remember to leave the one you want to ally with alive on the quest where one of each faction attacks you.
Jan 8th 2009 5:15PM I went with Oracles for various reasons, but I'm going to miss Dajik. He was hilarious.
Dec 30th 2008 9:41AM I'm waiting for the patch, for death knights to be unlocked on servers where I don't have a 55+ character yet - my RP characters don't level very quickly, but I definitely want to try one out on my RP server.
They're definitely fun to play, and I might roll a second one on my main realm if I was able. The rune system seems intuitive to me somehow.
