Mar 30th 2012 12:46AM Same... No email, but it's there on the account page. Woot!
Mar 28th 2012 1:55PM While I totally agree, I have to wonder... How does something like this go by for 18 months without mention?! (Seems like there was something cool in Wrath, too, that got brought up at the end that had been there for all along as well.)
Mar 28th 2012 9:22AM Someone asked in The Queue the other day whether anyone was 90, and the response was that questing in Pandaria was not yet available.
However, aren't the Cata heroics and raids available in the beta? Traditionally, previous xpac endgame XP was very little compared to the amount needed to level in the new xpac, but XP gains were still there... Right there in your pics of the raid finder, it shows an XP reward for running the LFR Dragon Soul.
Is there any XP to be had in the beta at all right now, or is it all turned off?
Mar 21st 2012 11:59PM That's quite an impressive list!
Offhand, one of the other articles recently said that they were doing away with Prime glyphs. Is the picture above from MoP or just something pulled from the pic archive?
And, are these entirely new glyphs or are some older ones being converted/getting name changes? Also, are some glyphs being removed entirely? If so, what happens to the unlearned glyphs (still on paper)? Do they become piles of dust to sell to the vendor for 2s?
Mar 19th 2012 6:20AM Haha... Nice one jimmy!
Yea, i'm looking more on the line of a one time $5 or $10 per slot fee and not $15 every month for infinity.
Mar 19th 2012 4:28AM That was my take on it as well...
My guess at this point is that the majority of players are going to be upset with the way the PBS is being molded and will head to the Blizz forums as let them know!
Mar 19th 2012 4:25AM I pretty much agree with you.
It never, not once, crossed my mind that Pet Battles would be the cause of insults and hurt feelings. And if that were to happen, that's what reporting abuse or /ignore is for. Right?
I'm an older, mature player that was looking forward to the PBS. But now, it just seems like they're admitting that they intended it for small children all along. (Again, small children are the only ones that may not know how to report abuse or use /ignore in-game. Am I right again?)
And only tracking wins... "Here's your trophy for participating!!" /arg
Mar 19th 2012 4:15AM I feel like Blizzard pissed in my Cheerios...
WoW Insider did a great job this past week getting me pumped up for some super awesome news, but after having reviewed it all, I'm just really disappointed.
No new character models and no mention of account-wide achievements or how shared pets across an account will work.
Only 1 additional character slot while better than nothing, still feels like a kick in the balls.
The simplification of the Pet Battle System where every pet has the same choices of abilities means that there's nothing really cool about having rare pets X, Y and Z on your team. And only tracking wins to spare hurt feelings is utter BS! The majority of WoW's playerbase is >20 now... We want to challenge our friends directly, not queue into some random fight. I was actually looking forward to the PBS, but now I feel like they've geared it towards pre-teens and small children.
Mar 19th 2012 4:03AM Just like most kids' sports these days, of course you win! Medals and trophies for all participants!!
Bah... only tracking wins is pure crap.
They won't even be able to provide a win percentage because that would in turn reveal how man losses you've had. I don't care if I (or another player) has 2k wins if it took us 5k battles to get there... 200 wins out of 250 battles is much more impressive and revealing about ones skills.
I'm an older player and I'm not even that competitive, but not keeping track of losses makes me feel like they're intentionally marketing Pet Battles to small children and pre-adolescents to spare their feelings. At the very least, they should have given us the option to choose how our records or kept.
And... The article mentions the queue system. Does this mean I can't challenge my friends and guildmates to a pet battle? Again, this was something I think a lot of players were looking forward to. If we can't directly compete, this is another strike against something I was actually somewhat excited about.
Mar 19th 2012 3:41AM Yea, that about sums it up for me as well.....
Never mind having one slot for each class, what about bank alts, and toons on the other faction?! This barely solves anything at all.
I'll just keep my hopes up remembering that one question from a European survey asking if players would be willing to pay for additional slots. One is certainly better than nothing, but I think the majority of players are going to be disappointed with this minimal solution and still want/need more slots.
