Spiritual Guidance: Shadow Priest 101, page 3 {WoW}

Mar 9th 2011 5:27PM To expand from Fadmin's comment:

- Like Boekster said, you do NOT need to reapply DOTs when you pop Dark Arch, their damage will be adjusted as such when Evang goes up.

- One thing people seem to forget about Mind Spike is that sometimes having the ability to remove all your DOTs at once can be quite useful. A good example is Omnitron in Blackwing Decent, where you need to switch from one robot to the next, and you need to stop damaging the last one because that can cause ill effects on the raid. Mind Spike comes in incredibly handy in a situation such as that.

The Queue: It's a moose, all right? {WoW}

Mar 6th 2011 4:39PM Dragons can turn themselves into other races at will. Not sure if you've done Wyrmrest before, but at the top are a bunch of elves, humans, and a gnome. Those are all dragons in mortal forms. They do this for convenience of moving about not as a giant dragon.

Blues explain nature of archaeology cooldowns {WoW}

Mar 2nd 2011 6:25PM I think the pinnacle of ridiculous cooldowns has to go to Darkspear/Gnomeregan Pride. I know the buff duration is pretty long at 30 minutes with most transformations usually sitting somewhere around 10 minutes long. But four hours, to me, seems like a ridiculous amount of time to wait for an item. Hell, it would make more sense even if it was just two hours.

Breakfast Topic: Do you use heirlooms when leveling? {WoW}

Feb 26th 2011 10:27AM Nowadays I only use any heirlooms that grant XP bonuses in Outland and Northrend. I still haven't done all the re-done old world zones and I don't want to just zip by with my 6,000% XP increase. I like doing the zones as they are meant to be done because the stories are just so darn engaging.

Patch 4.1 PTR: The story moves forward {WoW}

Feb 24th 2011 3:53PM There's no conspiracy. Blizzard completely released this patch and its notes today to directly compete with Rift. I bet if you asked someone directly they would be like "Yeah, duh, that's why we did it."

People seem to forget that Blizzard is a business, and the point of a business is to provide services and make as much money as possible. That doesn't make them "evil" or "corporate villains", it just makes them human. Rift is a real, viable threat to Blizzard right now and to protect their interests, they released some new content for their biggest seller, WoW, on the same day Rift began its launching process. It's actually quite an intelligent business move.

Why does everyone want to draw drama from everything? There's no conspiracy, Blizzard isn't some evil, money-drinking super power bent on world domination: Blizzard is a business, and they have to protect their business from competitors. It's just the way the world works.

Around Azeroth: Let me down easy {WoW}

Feb 17th 2011 11:23AM I'm a little surprised people don't look at this and know exactly what's going on. The Night Elf on the bottom is using Levitate and there's a roof or some sore of platform beneath her that's just out of shot. Both players probably just waited/took a lot of screenshots until the right one came out.

Love is in the Air event plagued by bugs {WoW}

Feb 6th 2011 5:13PM That being said, the new direction they've taken the holiday is much, much better than it used to be (in theory, anyway). Mega props to them for finding a good way to remove the crazy amount of RNG-based achievements necessary.

Love is in the Air event plagued by bugs {WoW}

Feb 6th 2011 5:12PM I'm not one to blame Blizz for all bugs, I don't like saying "GG BLIZZ WTF" whenever the littlest things go wrong. I understand it's an enormous, complicated game with lots of moving parts and it's difficult to keep them all moving correctly all the time...

But this is ridiculous. This is just flat-out not Blizzard quality. A few bugs slipping by is alright and live-with-able, but these bugs are actively keeping us from completing quests and from getting the meta. I really feel as though Blizzard has completely dropped the ball on this one.

The Queue: The one with a bird on it {WoW}

Feb 2nd 2011 2:20PM If you understand how computers work, you will understand that a computer cannot actually make a completely random choice. All "random" things done through computers are not actually random, but chosen through a series of complex algorithms and whatnot. So no, RNG is not, by the definition of the word, purely random.

I don't know if they're having trouble with the RNG like you're implying, however.

The Queue: The one with a bird on it {WoW}

Feb 2nd 2011 2:18PM I'm pretty sure they've said this won't be happening any time soon, if ever, because of technical limitations. Also, they want to have some sort of restrictions on how many toons people can roll.

IMO they should implement a way to rearrange the character selection screen before worrying about adding more.
