Feb 24th 2010 6:24PM I would like a book, please.
Jan 7th 2010 12:00PM I would say that the tank and the healer have the synergy that a drummer and bassist have. They are the foundation of the group and when either of them tries to act out or be too showy it makes for a harder time for the other members of our 5 man "band".
Dec 22nd 2009 10:25AM How's that for dealing with class mechanics?
Dec 22nd 2009 10:22AM SO i was doing the random dungeon and it put me in HoS. When we dropped in, i was checking out the healers gear only to discover that this resto druid was in possession of the Val'anyr. I was thrilled! "THis guy can play!", I thought. SO we proceed with the first pul and as a tank, I'm intently focused on the mobs I'm tanking and feeling good about the run. As we delve deeper in the dungeon, I began noticing that every pull it seem like we are getting extra mobs, as if maybe i'm tanking one group too close to the next one and some DPS is pulling on accident due to a wayward AoE. I question the group about it and everyone denies pulling extra. Our Val'anyr wielding healer remains conspicuously silent. ON the next pull, I decide to watch the healer. Mere moments after the pull I see our healer running past me and the pull headlong into the next group of mobs!!!
Now I know that all servers have their own traditions, and maybe on whatever server this guy was from, it's acceptable for trees toting Val'anyr to pull the next group rather than waiting on the tank, but unfortunately this particular method was never explained to me. So what was I to do?
Well i figured that since this particular druid was so adept at pulling and since he had obviously weathered the hard mode conditions in Ulduar 25 enough to come up with his legendary weapon, that he must not feel he needed a tank.
So I waited until he'd pulled a whole pack of mobs... and dropped group.
Dec 21st 2009 6:43PM As I was reading that, I thought of this....
Inigo Montoya: That Vizzini, he can *fuss*.
Fezzik: Fuss, fuss... I think he like to scream at *us*.
Inigo Montoya: Probably he means no *harm*.
Fezzik: He's really very short on *charm*.
Inigo Montoya: You have a great gift for rhyme.
Fezzik: Yes, yes, some of the time.
Vizzini: Enough of that.
Inigo Montoya: Fezzik, are there rocks ahead?
Fezzik: If there are, we all be dead.
Vizzini: No more rhyming now, I mean it.
Fezzik: Anybody want a peanut?
Dec 13th 2009 2:08PM Catering to the casual???
Whatever. These are quests that are designed to catch everyone up on the story as it now stands. There is a story in this game, you know. And I would think that the story would be a least a teensy bit important to even the hardest of the hardcore. Am I right?
Dec 11th 2009 3:13PM This is off topic, but I clicked the link for "one of the best sites on the internet".
I gotta say Schramm... you like some weird stuff.
Dec 10th 2009 9:29AM This was getting to me too...
Here's how I temp fixed it. Move a few steps back and the Shockwave the group. When they come out of it, they will run to you and stop in front rather than run behind you because you aren't moving.
Seemed to well during the cave gauntlet in Pit of Saron.
Dec 4th 2009 2:39PM I would SO apply... except that I play a warrior...
So I guess that means Rossi would have to retire...
"Fear not, Matthew Rossi is staying on here at WoW.com to continue his new column "The Care and Feeding of Large Men with Lots of hair who also happen to raid."
Nov 18th 2009 11:38AM So I think that as a fitting tribute to the suffixes, they should put in a Legendary melee DPS trinket that increases your haste and hit, and inspires everyone around you to play better. And call it "Eye... of the Tiger" :-)
