Apr 20th 2009 10:18PM Of course, if the guild leader does come clean now, most of his guild will already have read about it on WoWInsider. They're going to slaughter him.
Apr 17th 2009 9:21PM There's nothing wrong with writing about WoW lore, but I have to politely agree that this is a surprising topic to choose for the first scattered shots post since patch 3.1 went live.
One can only assume that this post was scheduled before it was known that this week was patch week, and a comprehensive patch analysis will follow within the next day or so.
Apr 10th 2009 10:37AM As a Druid, fancy flying mounts hold no interest for me at all - what could possibly be better than (instant cast) epic flight form.
If a nice land mount came my way I'd use it, but I wouldn't spend time chasing one. (I don't use land mounts much because I can fly).
Waiting for Blizzard to buff travel form to land mount speed (and add epic travel form). Shapeshifters shouldn't need pack animals :-).
Mar 24th 2009 10:32PM Wow!
These boys must be kicking themselves. Free publicity on WoWInsider completely ruined by a broken registration page :-) .
Mar 24th 2009 10:54AM First impressions not good - registration form keeps telling me it requires a valid guild name, even though I entered one. Kinda hard to post a recruiting add when you can't even get past the registration.
I'm on a Mac using Safari v3.2.1.
Mar 22nd 2009 4:57PM @Styvorama - I agree (except for the the laziness comment). Being able to dye gear would be a great addition to the game. Maybe give the recipes to Alchemists (or Cooks, if you're that way inclined :-) ).
Mar 16th 2009 10:22AM "... telling them to shut up because they don’t run the guild is a slap in the face to them."
You might want to reread the article. He's not saying that at all.
There's a difference between having a mature and constructive discussion with your officers and childish QQing. The article was aimed at people engaging in the latter.
Mar 8th 2009 12:41PM - 'Bring the player, not the class', but only certain classes have replenishment. And Blizzard design raid encounters assuming the raid has replenishment. So you have to bring certain classes or ask them to spec in a certain way.
- Blizzard want to nerf mana regen for healers because mana conservation isn't an issue in a raid anymore. (I agree its not when you have replenishment in the raid).
Why not keep mana regen as it is now and get rid of replenishment to solve both problems at once.
(I'm in a small guild - oftentimes we only have 10 people available for a raid, so we end up with very strange class mixes. True 'bring the class, not the player' would make that a lot easier for us).
Mar 7th 2009 5:35PM Reminds me of my first VoA 25-man PuG. I had to beg them to tell me who the main tank was. Then I started asking who the off-tank was and the raid leader eventually replied in raid chat "Do we have a second tank?" That was my cue to politely leave - anyone that disorganized is best left to die alone.
In general though, healing assignments in organized groups aren't that important when things are going well, but it really helps when something goes wrong. (I can feel confident focusing all my heals on keeping my tank alive because I know our shammie has the raid healing under control). For this reason I always hand out assignments - even on farmed content.
(And the nice thing about assignments on easy content is you can have a bit of fun playing DPS in between throwing the occasional heal on your tank :-) ).
