Spiritual Guidance: The 10 best weapons for shadow priests in patch 4.3 {WoW}

Jan 19th 2012 9:18AM Semantically you might be right but this isn't how the staff works. I have it and have studied it a good bit. Whole DoTs do not replicate I.e. you won't have two copies of shadow word : pain. DoT ticks do replicate and the damage is logged as Wrath of Tarecgosa. Non dot spells do replicate and getting logged as just another version of that spell. I.e. shows up as two mind blasts in your log with no indication one was a copy.
Also dots and non dot spells can have different proc rates. I haven't retested since the nerf but I believe it's now in the 5-7% proc chance range. Still a huge buff.

Shifting Perspectives: Eclipse, AOE, and energy gains {WoW}

Nov 4th 2011 5:54PM @Welldead to increase your boomkin dps you need to concentrate on managing eclipse uptime and minimizing movement, which for me takes three things, in rough order of importance:
(a) Eclipse timing: most sites say be in solar for AOE, but the trick really is working out how to do that for each fight. Your first choice of nuke will determine your eclipse rotation for the entire fight. So test both directions out and find out which one lines up best with AOE situations. You HAVE to be in solar for them, even if it means casting the wrong nuke to stay there.
(b) Knowledge of the fight and where you need to be, our movement sucks, if you have to move suddenly your dps plummets but you have a window everytime you refresh dots to move a few steps in the right direction. Get used to planning where you will be as far in advance as possible. Also cat shift and use stampeding roar or dash if you have to move far. (this I think has the largest effect, downtime or uncertainty moving differentiates low DPS players from high DPS players)
(c) DOT Timers: find and config a good DOT timer to track your DOTs, I recommend TidyPlates for multi-target and there are a million ones for single target ( i like HUDs so I use IceHUD). For AOE plant shrooms, Sunfire everything, shrooms, Insect Swarm everything, shrooms, maintain Sunfire since with TidyPlates you can see which ones are about to fall off.

In almost full 378s these tactics should get you to 20k easily.

Shifting Perspectives: Comparing T12 boomkin gear against T11 {WoW}

Aug 20th 2011 10:11AM I think most of SP vs Boomkin rivalry comes from warlocks actually, or Dark Intent to be specific. Pre DI-nerf there was a lot of competition to get the DI buff, with SP coming out ahead on paper (although really you want to give it to your most proficient multi-dotter).

Shifting Perspectives: Heroic ICC for balance druids -- Lower Spire and Crimson Hall {WoW}

Sep 4th 2010 12:46PM No please read , the tank isn't #1 on the aggro table, since they have been tanking adds all phase 1. From what I can find out in the forums its a common glitch on heroic mode that the aggro doesnt reset, so if they taunt in phase one (when it works) they can get a great head start.

Shifting Perspectives: Heroic ICC for balance druids -- Lower Spire and Crimson Hall {WoW}

Sep 4th 2010 7:52AM So regards Lady DeathWhisper our tank mentioned a tactic he uses to solo tank this, I can't confirm it since I be boomkining but you should check it out. While she isn't tauntable in phase 2, she is in phase 1. Crazy you say? Since she doesn't actually attack people. Well we leave a rogue on the boss the entire of phase 1 and she still has a threat table which is preserved into phase 2. So our tank taunts her a few seconds before the transition, gains all of the rogues threat and then when phase 2 starts the rogue vanishes. Boom massive threat lead for the tank. If it's a good rogue (any class with full threat dump works) then that is enough threat for all of phase 2.

Cataclysm raid progression refinements {WoW}

Apr 26th 2010 12:27PM This is a great change. Everyone freaking out needs to learn to read a bit better. They already stated that 25 mans will drop more loot PER PERSON than 10 mans, not just more loot. Until we see the exact numbers it's hard to say if this kills 25 mans or not. I'd expect they can tweak this easily until they get 25 man attendance how they like it. Imagine 10 man drops 2 pieces, then 25 man has to drop more than 5 pieces to compete. If it drops 7-8 pieces then it's worth the hassle, if it drops 5 it's not worth it. They can just change this number until the qq decreases. It's all about minimizing d QQ/ d #loot_pieces .

Breakfast Topic: Which class am I again? {WoW}

Oct 9th 2009 8:35AM Ya it ain't so much wrong buttons, its when I creep up stealthed in battlegrounds on a group of unsuspecting horde only to find them highly suspecting since I'm on my paladin not my rogue and plainly visible.

If I close my eyes maybe they won't see me..........

PTR schedule updated {WoW}

Mar 31st 2009 4:53PM It's true but as it's meant to be a fake Easter, I'd say they will strive to avoid that at all costs. And regards the point below, I think Willias was trying to say the changes in the PTR update patches are small, not the overall 3.1 patch.
Also since they are on the hard modes testing now, I'll bet they'd push out 3.1 as is on the 7th and then do a hotfix or minipatch if something was wrong with the hard modes. After all even the l33t raiding guilds have a one week lockout right? They won't be tackling the hard modes for the first week with no Ulduar gear.
Now people just better buy my auction house stuff so I have the money to dualspec and glyph all my toons :-p

PTR schedule updated {WoW}

Mar 31st 2009 4:30PM I'm not sure if people have talked about this but according to the 3.1 PTR patch notes, it includes a new extended Noblegarden holiday which starts on April 12th. So wouldn't that really imply they have to patch before that, i.e. next week?
Fingers crossed!
