Feb 5th 2010 9:36AM Wow, those are some very interestng changes. Makes me want to try to play some more. I've been going on and off with this game and I cannot seem to get hooked for some reason I cannot quite pinpoint. The game is well-done, well-cared for but I feel like I'm missing something important that would hook me up :(

Aug 17th 2009 3:44PM Yes, after testing it for 3 months, that's exactly what's been bugging me the most about the game is how a limitless amount of potential, whether it is through power, locales and gameplay mechanics, seems to have been somewhat dumbed down to what feels like something that is lacking depth and substance to provide a fast-paces action feel. There's the potential to weave epic stories, to create wonderful heroics and to go crazy, but it doesn't seem like the team tried to reach that point.
Ultimately, it feels like a rather shallow experience that is tons of fun for a few hours.

Aug 17th 2009 1:38PM I've played Beta for a while and can finally comment on this. I won't buy the game even though I did play COX for quite a while.

The game is not bad, it's actually pretty well done as far as character customization goes. There's a wide variety of costumes (although the interface is rather confusing to use) and the free-form power selection is pretty nifty (but can lead to some outrageously UBER or pitifully weak characters depending on choices). While the combat is fun at first, it does get rather repetitive after a while and while the zones are pretty well done, there's too few of them to really give the game an epic feel. It really feels more like a small beat-em-up rpg game rather than a full-blown epic MMO.
