Mar 27th 2009 8:52AM There's a hunter in my guild obsessed with taming rare/hard-to-get pets, and that is his pride and joy. To date, I've not seen a single other hunter on the server with one. So grats to him, and grats to you
Mar 25th 2009 8:02AM Wait a minute, people load Vista?
Mar 24th 2009 8:59AM Your cast times are way off, a mistake I'm assuming. Flash heal is a base 1.5 second cast, Greater heal is 2.5 seconds (talented) I also think your shields should be absorbing more than 2.5k even as holy. I'd agree this isn't a great set bonus for holy, but for disc, this is pretty nice. Someone takes burst dmg, they now PW:S, penance, then FH/GH, all with extra healing from the spellpower boost. The 5 sec duration is low, but that's what borrowed time is for.
I also find some of your calculations of what kind of dmg is getting handed out in raids to be off, eg. only getting hit for a small amounts when the OT isn't on top of adds. This isn't vanilla, raid dmg is everywhere, PW:S is useful.
Mar 20th 2009 5:45AM I'm guessing you meant resto shamans, not enhancement. Otherwise...
Mar 19th 2009 7:55AM @fayhand: That would only really be good for disc priests, as holy there's usually some other spell you should be casting. The PoH bonus is great for both classes with the changes in 3.1, the 4 piece bonus is just odd.
Mar 18th 2009 8:47PM Hahaha, you beat me to it, Wire references do indeed own. You need to do this, it'd be amazing. Shame DK's can't use shotguns, but still, do it.
Mar 17th 2009 12:41PM Damn, that's like a shopping list of must-have add-ons, followed by a whole load of 'you really felt the need to mod *this*?' add-ons. Gotta say I'm impressed and will be trying out a few of these when I'm not at work like I am right now.
Mar 17th 2009 8:49AM Definitely. I was in a WSG the other day where we came up against a pre-made. Not a big deal, expected to get steamrolled. Instead they trapped the majority of players at the graveyard and repeatedly aoe'd us to death. Chuck in frost-traps and no buffs due to just ressing and we didn't have a chance. Eventually someone on our side capped the flag and 'won' the BG for us. Blizz need to deal with this kind of crap
Mar 16th 2009 7:31AM Dez, the 100 mount achievment is one of the truly hardcore ones, and will require huge amounts of time, gold, patience and RNG luck. The 50 mount achievment on the other hand is much more possible, and rewards and albino drake, cooler imo than the dragonhawk. Others have explained some of the various methods, but I'll narrow it down for the 50 mount one (and you really should aim for this first just to make it more achievable).
First, grind to exalted with all of your factions. If you're a dranei or belf, congratulations, your job just got easier. If not, these 2 factions are harder to get exalted, but not impossible. There are some decent posts on wowinsider explaining how. Basically you'll want to do *all* low lvl starting area q's for *all* factions, as these give loads of rep. Then move up in areas, most lvl1-30 q's will reward rep, and some afterwards. Start stacking up on runecloth for the ones you just can't seem to get. Now buy all of the faction mounts, slow and fast, and in all colours.
Next start grinding outland rep. The two quickest are mag'har/kurenai (horde/alliance) and netherwing. The dailies from netherwing should give you some much needed gold to buy mounts, while the lower lvl ogre mobs you grind for kurenai rep also drop runecloth if you haven't got all faction reps exalted yet. Again, buy all mounts from these guys, and also pick up all flying ones from SMV, slow and fast.
If you're allie, congrats, you should now be at 50 mounts! If you're horde, you might be short 1 or 2 (changing in 3.1). For these either pick up some of the northrend ones if you have the money, or grind some BG tokens to pick up a pvp mount. Now head to your nearest mailbox and marvel at how the managed to fit an entire albino drake in there.
This can be done in 1-2 weeks, depending on how fast you manage the netherwing grind. The 100 mount achievment really is a lot harder and a lot more expensive, so if you really want to, start planning how, and good luck.
Mar 13th 2009 4:40AM Check the comments above you and the article itself. It's a placeholder. There's also an achievement to defeat Ignis within 2 seconds, one to defeat Kologarn with 6000 adds up, and one to defeat Auriaya 'while doing something cool'. Placeholders.
