Know Your Lore: Current Horde politics, the Trolls, Page 2 {WoW}

Apr 25th 2010 12:45PM Well that doesn't cover all eventualities, but I more see what you are saying now.

Know Your Lore: Current Horde politics, the Trolls, Page 2 {WoW}

Apr 25th 2010 3:42AM I'm not convinced though. That doesn't really explain why the trolls would have a more compelling reason to stop cannabilizing (I mean horde trolls of course) than the forsaken do. As you point out, the Forsaken eat to regain their vitality while on the battlefield, and while that is a necessity, they can survive without it, so it's not really required. Your response doesn't address the relationship between the forsaken and the rest of the horde. We know from the article and other sources of history that the forsaken are seen as iffy business for Thrall to be associated with, and I suppose that since the forsaken are pretty much looked down on that they can do anything they like without judgement, but I still am trying to figure out why the Darkspear would give up a deep religious and war-based tradition that has been part of their culture since inception however many years ago (or thousands of years as the case may be.)

Know Your Lore: Current Horde politics, the Trolls, Page 2 {WoW}

Apr 25th 2010 1:38AM Great article, nicely written and full of very useful and interesting information. I haven't played trolls extensively as a favorite race, but my up coming Cata toon will most likely be my troll shaman, so it's cool to get a quick recap of the history.

Here's a question though: as mentioned most of the Darkspear have given up their cannabalism in respect for Thrall and their allies. They're members of the horde. The forsaken are also members of the horde, and while obviously a bit more blunt in nature and detracted from the orcs (faction leader isn't standing in Thrall's room? Though Thrall and Sylvanas seem to be on pretty good terms from the way the Wrathgate event goes) they practice cannabilism openly and freely. I wonder why the trolls didn't continue with their traditional "nomming" since it has far more history and legitimacy behind it than the forsaken who seem to just lust after the dead flesh to regain their health. There is no ritualistic or spiritual reason for the undead to enjoy a feast of flesh. Thoughts?

Ghostcrawler on Cataclysm's talent tree philosophy, abilities, and Ragnaros {WoW}

Jan 29th 2010 12:00PM Zurkka: Malfurion is trapped in the Emerald Dream and would probably have returned if he had been able to ages ago. If he comes back now it also takes a key lore point out of the premise for an expansion that we might travel into the emerald dream during, so even if they take him out of the emerald dream for Cataclysm, I wouldn't support it despite how incredibly badass it would be to fight beside Malfurion himself.

Breakfast Topic: Do you know where your children are? {WoW}

Aug 1st 2009 2:24PM I'll echo the positive sentiments towards the select few young players that come off with a very mature and intelligent personality. About a year ago when I was leveling my first toon, my warlock, I teemed up with a mage for a couple of instances. We were fast friends and talked a lot. When she mentioned that her mom said she had to go bed, I was surprised because it was about 7pm. I found out that she was a 9 year old, and I had assumed all along she was older than me. She was very intelligent and very well spoken so I was glad to continue being her friend. We do have a new guildie that's about 8 and he can be a piece of work sometimes, but the GM is focused on getting him to calm down and meld with the guild, and the rest of the guildies are being supportive, which is nice.

Breakfast Topic: Why reroll? {WoW}

Mar 2nd 2009 8:31AM My first character was a belf mage and once I hit 26 I couldn't keep going. I was too depressed with the idea of having so much downtime. I have regrets about abandoning him, but in the end it turned out all good. Shortly after I rerolled an undead warlock who I took all the way up to 70 and raided with until Wrath came out. Since then I've rolled many alts and 'new mains' and am specifically working on my paly right now. My only 80 is my DK and my warlock is the only other one that is 70+. College schedule makes me kind of busy, even though I still play an unhealthy amount of time.

An avowed non-PvPer can't get enough of Lake Wintergrasp {WoW}

Dec 28th 2008 12:23PM Wintergrasp is the world PvP to end all world PvP's. I enjoy it a lot, and I'm sure I"ll enjoy it more once I get time to scour the area for resources.
