Jan 20th 2012 1:44AM There is some outdated information here.
Item 3, your SV rotation under Lock and Load hasn't been relevant since before 4.2. They changed the way dots refreshed so weaving in a cobra (or Arcane, which is very bad advice until they take Arcane off of Lock and Load charges in 4.3.2) between Explosive shots is no longer viable.
Prior to 4.2, you'd clip down to 7 ticks if you just spammed Explosive shot as soon as LnL procs ... for the past 6 months you can spam Explosive and get 8 tics. You only have to wait 0.1 sec between shots to get the full 9 ticks, and the dps loss is minimal compared to waiting a the old pause of 1.1 secs and giving yourself a janky rotation. This has been common knowledge for SV for months.
Generally speaking, this information is very very out of date, and for the average Hunter it makes no sense to use tell them not to just spam Explosive. It's much easier and dps loss is negligible compared to obsessing over interweaving shots and delaying your Explosive Shot CD.
You also should have mentioned that because of the number of ticks of Explosive Trap increasing your chance of proccing LnL, hunters should be using Explosive Trap whenever possible instead of Black Arrow, at least until 4.3.2 hits the live server (they are changing the proc of Black Arrow so it becomes more desirable than Explosive Trap for single target).
You should also have mentioned how important Mastery becomes for SV hunters once we have the T13 4pc bonus, which returns so much focus and has a haste proc, making Mastery valuable.
Hate to say this, but the fact you are no longer playing your Hunter and concentrating on other toons really shows, Frost.
Dec 7th 2011 8:08PM Pretty sure the minimum iLevel for the Raid Finder is 372, not 365. That was a change on patch day as the 365 requirement was on the PTR, but never live.
Just pretty sure it's 372 to use LFR for Dragon Soul.
Nov 28th 2011 6:41PM I'm sure Sony did a ton of market testing before deciding on these prices, but my gut just says they're shooting themselves in the foot.
They're sacrificing PSN impulse game and movie purchases in favor of short-term memory card profit.
Sony has this elaborate movie store, and they're crippling their own customers' ability to use that store to take a movie with them on their PS Vita.
It seems, on the surface, to make way more sense to offer huge memory cards at near-cost so consumers will be able to buy multiple movies to take on a trip, and impulse-buy a few downloadable games without having to deal with the hassle of storing those games locally on a machine.
Guess Sony decided they'd rather get the memory card profits than gamble on the strength of PSN giving them more movie/game profit in the future.
Oh well. Probably an 8GB for me, no portable movies, and retail-only games. Bummer.
Oct 27th 2011 1:29PM Their recent update totally wiped out all the coins and jetpacks and costumes for a lot of people. It wiped out mine.
They're probably setting it to free to help counteract the volume of one-star ratings they've been getting for demolishing weeks of progress.
When you sell in-game currency for real money, then turn around and delete all that in-game currency with no explanation or customer service recourse, you're a bad company.
Try the game out for free (it's good), but under no circumstances give them money for in-game coins ... there's a good chance they'll just wipe them out in a future update.
Jan 7th 2011 4:20PM The Left Eye of Rajh is clearly an inside joke planted by Blizzard so pug groups can get mad at hunters when they accidentally roll on an expertise trinket, confused by the ranged equip proc.
Dec 6th 2010 5:32PM Go Go Tiger!
Dec 6th 2010 5:05PM Really wish DX11 was more stable. I have a top-end system and run at 2560x1600, and WoW will crash within 10 seconds of loading with DX11 enabled after a cold boot.
Strangely, if I immediately open WoW again it runs fine.
All my friends love DX11 WoW but it's just too unstable right now. Everyone experiences random crashes and problems, at least everyone in my guild who use the new 580.
Nov 16th 2010 2:36PM Oh thank God I've been trying to get my UI smaller for months. Ever since going to 2560x2600 actually. :)
Nov 15th 2010 4:07PM One thing I'm curious to see play out is server firsts.
I think we can all agree that difficulty will be impossible to truly balance between 25m and 10m. On Beta 10m are considerably easier, but that's Beta and hopefully it will more even when they reach live.
Even with an excellent balancing, there will be some encounters that are easier for 25m and some that are easier for 10m.
But now server first achievements are shared? How is that going to work?
Personally, I don't care about AFKs or Loot Drama or any of the things listed above ... they simply are not an issue in my guild, nor any of the progression-oriented guilds I've been in. What I do care about is the epic feeling of being first on the server to down a difficult boss. Of racing against the top Alliance guilds and having no idea if they're close to dropping him.
In Wrath an Alliance guild beat us by 10 minutes to heroic Halion 25, and we all got the server announcement and groaned.
A while later, we beat them to Sarth 3d 25. Those races were great (and led to some great Horde Top Guild vs Alliance Top Guild world pvp), and I'll be more than a bit bummed if the server announcements for server firsts disappear or become diminished because no one knows if they happened on 10m or 25m, or if one size is "easier" than the other.
Oct 18th 2010 6:48PM Looks like Blizzard is finally getting around to fixing us broken hunters. Word on the forums and a text from my guildie confirm a hunter hotfix today!
They apparently didn't like people ignoring Chimera and Serpent and just spamming Arcane.
... so they nerfed Arcane Shot by 30%.
Seriously. Words fail.
