Aug 4th 2008 3:56PM It's just MY opinion along with many other people's (obviously) and I probably won't be the only person you get into a tiff with over rogue specs and what's best, etc. I agree with the "play how you want" style but it really isn't the best tactic to use. Yeah, you pay $15 a month you should be able to play how you want, and I respect that. And if you PvP more than you do anything else, subtlety is awesome. Although, and this is just MY opinion (as well as other people's, probably) dagger subtlety rogues were flavor of the month and it's really not the best way to utilize the class as it used to be. Again, MY opinions, what I've read up on the class and learned for myself by playing the class and what I've learned from people who play the class extremely well (even level 70 specced subtlety rogues! imagine that!). With that said, I am finishing this argument and no longer responding if you reply because there's really nothing else to say. As for the sinister strike/riposte comment... all I have to say is, "wow." Interpret that how you wish. Have an awesome day! :)
Aug 4th 2008 12:21PM I disagree with you completely. Almost all, if not all rogue leveling guides say combat is best for leveling. Not to sound harsh, but brush up on your information before saying something like that. What exactly is it that you can solo with subtlety that you cannot solo with combat? Take a closer look at the trees. Your comment really doesn't make sense to me, I'm sorry. There is no way subtlety is better than combat for leveling alone or with someone else. No freakin' way.
Aug 4th 2008 9:55AM I friken hate AV. Horde seems to be completely incapable of winning. But to me, at least in my battle group, it's still fairly good for farming honor. I'm not yet 70 so I can't just run by people because Alliance will definitely pick on the weakling. There's really nothing I can do in the BG since I get killed so quickly, so I just stealth around and pick off the weakest 70s I can find to get the killing blows on :D When I hit 70, I can only expect I'll hate it even more. But I need the honor points to get my PvP gear! Argh, you just can't win. On the other hand, I'm really excited about the new BG in Wrath, and oh, I hate WSG. Goodbye. :)
Aug 1st 2008 9:32AM Leveling lockpicking (if you didn't do it on your way up) sucks. Trying to open lockboxes in a city to level your profession sucks even more. I have pick-pocketed and ran my way across Azeroth and spent hours on end (and yes, it is my fault) to get my lockpicking up to the unfortunate 275 it is right now, but I always advertise my services for free. I'm shocked when I get tips between 50s-15g just for picking a few locks, but if they want to give it to me, let them :) Pretty much everyone said something that I was going to say. :\ If you ask for tips, you get what you get, plain and simple. If you have a set cost for your services then you really should have no problem. People either want to pay or not. But if you're supplying YOUR materials, then the other person should at least be expected to pay for the cost of the materials and their precious precious time :)
Jul 31st 2008 9:24AM My rogue is level 65 and I PvP a lot (when my boyfriend is at work and not on wow since he's leveling a mage with me) but I am a combat rogue since combat is the best leveling spec. It kind of upsets me to see all (most) of the rogue posts here relating to subtlety specs when, believe it or not! not all rogues are specced subtlety. I'd really like to see more variety in the posts, like maybe have tactics for each spec instead of just one. I very rarely see anything about Assassination or Combat. I realize subtlety is the best PvP spec, and even though I PvP a lot, I'm not going to respec (now or at 70 probably) just so I can pwn in PvP and gimp myself of damage output in the PvE world. Does anyone even have tactics for non-subtlety rogues doing PvP? Anyway, I guess that was my little QQ for the morning.
Jul 25th 2008 10:36AM Oh wait, you're totally right. Disregard every comment I have ever made. My undead rogue needs a new hair style BAD. Haha.
Jul 25th 2008 10:24AM I'll definitely still play my rogue because I love her so dearly, I don't think I could let her go. But you're right about DK DPS outweighing rogue dps and not only because they definitely out-armor them. I'm so excited to wear plate armor as a DPS (because for some reason I just refuse to play a paladin or a warrior as DPS... or at all :\). IMO, I just think DKs will be extremely useful for just about anything, which excites me.
Jul 25th 2008 9:56AM Am I the only person who really jus wants to wait for the expansion to come out to play the game? I'm not fired up about beta, I didn't opt-in. Primarily because I guess I'm lame. But when the EXPANSION comes out, my rogue will come first. My female tauren DK will start out as an alt until I get my rogue to 80. Depending on how I like the DK and how good I get at it, I don't know what I will use her for. I don't want to tank because DPS seems to be my niche, and I may just use her for PvP. So many choices...
Jul 24th 2008 11:08AM Holy carp, how could I forget??? I made a shirt that says, "My boyfriend's totems are bigger than yours" and on the lower right side of the back it says, "Horde FTW" because I didn't have enough glittery silver and gold letters to actually put "For The Horde"... It took FOREVER to make that shirt, lol because the damn letters wouldn't stay on. Faulty iron-ons...
Jul 24th 2008 8:57AM I have a horde decal on the back window of my truck (it replaced a very old, sad looking slytherin one :[ ). I also have a rogue shirt (and bought my boyfriend the shaman one so we could match, hehe :') ), a shirt that says "less QQ more pew pew", and right now I am in ownage of my boyfriend's BC shirt. No one has come up to me personally in public and said something, but I was with my boyfriend once at the mall and he had on his Alliance shirt (neither of us play alliance anymore) and some guy talked to us for like half an hour about WoW and it was rather hilarious.
I digress. I would love to have more WoW swag and am actually considering getting some trading cards (just because I want phat l00tz, really). WoW merch is fun and I like to represent :D
