May 17th 2009 5:39PM It's all relative, those of us with jobs and families and other commitments will always level "Slow", but often because we don't have as much playtime we don't waste our in game time and hit cap in a relatively low /played time.

Import your character from the armory then change mode to sandbox in the top right. Or just start off in sandbox mode and build your gearset from scratch.

Dec 22nd 2008 5:10PM Not quite, currently investing 2 talent points into Improved Blizzard lets you use the CoC snare overwriting you were talking about so the point is moot.

It's essentially a fix that says "oops, chilled to the bone was OP with blizzard" and instead of nerfing the effectiveness of a tier 11 talent on one spell and dealing with the huge wave of our collective Magey tears, they nerfed a tier 3 spell and only have to deal with the tears of the low level mages that enjoyed frost grinding in the 20-60 bracket.

As far as leveling frost AOE mages are concerned, it's a pretty solid nerf. 3.0.2 saw 75% snare for 6 talent points and attainable at level 22. 3.0.8 sees 70% snare for 11 talent points and attainable at level 59. There's no way this is a buff, no matter how you swing it.


Wealth category removed from Armory statistics {WoW}

Dec 3rd 2008 8:59PM I know a few people speculating the AH in the 1-2k a day bracket and you wouldn't have been able to tell from their armory profiles anyway. People that are really raking in the truly large amounts of gold generally do most of their trading on level 1 bank alts, ie not in the armory anyway. Count me as one of the "Meh" crowd on this change, no-one's ever begged from my AH toons regardless of whether it's a few copper or thousands of gold sitting on them.

Dec 1st 2008 7:04PM Been to the dark side, still kept the attitude that loot was secondary and a means to an end, not the end itself.

Sure you need better gear to take on higher tier content, but it's completely possible to raid successfully and still value your guildies and the fun of it all over your next tier upgrade...

One day the servers will shut down and all that will be left is our memories, if all we were interested in is the loot then I think they'll be a sour time to look back on.

Dec 1st 2008 6:14PM First off is to have fun, everyone's first instance run was a shambles, some of us had great "mentors" but a lot of the subtlety of grouping become so second nature to us old timers we forget how it was on our first run.

Secondly remember that loot is a bonus, the real reward is seeing content with other like minded people that you enjoy spending time with. Group dynamics will all come with practice, but attitude can be the make or break of any group.

Jul 2nd 2008 4:10PM There are a lot of bad feelings surrounding this claim from Blizzard. Before the release of BC Blizz said the same thing, mages were going to get a damage boost and were touted to be the class to beat on the damage meters.

The issue isn't that mages haven't been promised anything in wrath, it's that most of them aren't holding their breath a second time for damage buffs that they've been promised before but never got.
