Breakfast Topic: Been waiting an excrutiatingly long time for this {WoW}

Mar 8th 2012 8:18AM You know I farmed that one for 2 weeks and the horse dropped on me.

I know I was hated by the other guild members for they had been farming it for years... Lol

Most farming I did was for the Raven Lord, around 46 times.

I must be really lucky as I also had the Kel delar drop and the Shadowfang Keep.

15 Minutes of Fame: Premade players QueueQ for battlegrounds wins {WoW}

Oct 14th 2010 2:37AM And so these people do not understand that with such a system you kill the casual fun for the other side.

Oh, this comment will be downgraded perhaps, but these kind of things are not enjoyable when they become a common behaviour amongst free BG's.

I expect Cata to have a very negative impact on the joy of "free" BG's. (with the intro of the so called hardcore orgainsed (cheating in this case) button smashers.

You win yes ! But the game mechanics loses. end result is not good with .... 85% people being frustrated.

Think about it.

Guest Post: Three fresh ideas for world PvP events {WoW}

Jul 25th 2010 4:14AM @More8...

This isn't a discussion of personal attacks ("play better" "learn to take a loss"). This is a general comment ... on games and people in general.

For once and for all: people do not PAY for games if they are constantly on a losing side.

Period. Best example of this was the huge faction balance problems within WAR.

The moment you enter a realm (world PvP) situation where one side is outnumbering the other side by a 2 to 3 to 1 basis: you already lost one side of the players.

It is the one that killed Arena (70% drop compared to the TBC arena play - DESPITE that the game now is far more balanced in classes than it used to be).

reason: too hardcore PvP, supported by ridiculous personal rating schedules in late TBC.

After this Blizzard has changed Arena a dozen times in calculating points, lowering the ratings, putting off 2vs2 awards etc etc etc...

They lost those players forever.

Why? Because of the losing sides and demotivation of the "casual" PvP player who no longer liked to play when his head was handed to him in 6 seconds.

PvP IS a very dangerous sword in an mmorpg, e-sports within the game and hardcore modes (like the upcoming Bg's) are a very dangerous situation.

I can only look around at my RL friends. Most have stopped playing Arena (remember the 70% drop), only very few still enter the Bg's and believe me rated Bg's will not bring them back if you will see the following:

"Needed mage with 1200+ resilience and at least a 2100+ PvP rating to fill in the 15th place for AB"....

And after the very limited number of weekly competition slots, these guys just will enter the casual Bg's (even in groups of 5) to own you in your casual own BG's.

Bottom line: people will not pay for long to get owned: and the worst of PvP is the so called "world PvP" because that one is certainly going to kill the balance (and fun) on your own servers.

Blizzard and The9 fined $212,000 for copyright infringement in China {WoW}

Mar 2nd 2010 4:55PM China and copyright ?

They've got to be kidding.... :)))

They banned WOW for using skelton models in cartoon graphics, while they show live executions of people on national TV at prime time.

Half of their industry is into making illegal copies of western products and every student who dares to speak freely has got his Google mail hacked by the governement spies.

Yep... Guess 3 times where the next big war will be in 2024 ?

The only thing that will save us is the internet and communciations btw: let the Chinese know what leaders they really have.

The media helped against the commies in Eastern Europe, I "hope" the internet will do the same for China and yes even WOW could help a little with that.

The Lich King's casual decree: No geek left behind? {Massively}

Feb 3rd 2009 5:47AM WotLK is a great expansion.

The world they created in Northrend is vertical, can be flown over and has a very good end game because of a lot of choices. A lot of fun mini games which break the grinding effect all MMO's have.

Be it world Pvp, arena, Bg's, dialy quests, heroic dungeons and intro raiding settings.

All are an evolution we have seen in Wow since patch 2.3 (Nov 2007). It is no longer the raiding game.

Those who say it is too easy are mostly those NOT doing the 25 men Raids or rated Arena matches...

They only choose to play it the easy way and avoid any hard goings.

It looks "cool" when you say WotlK is too easy (by merely doing the open world experience quests) and to me it is proof of being a real "noob" believing you can just walk as a casual and get an arena rating of 1800 or downing everyting in the 25 men raids.

And I have proof: the armory around me shows the opposite !!!

It should say SOMTHING if now 3 months after launch NO ONE camle even close to obtaining the full achievements list.

And the number one on that spot of .... 5.000.000 western subscriptions will even never make it, because he still lacks a dozen achievements in PvP (arena).

So a game where NOT one person out of 5.000.000 could even do the achievements is hardly "casual".

More beta keys sent out {WoW}

Sep 12th 2008 5:34AM Well No beta key.

3 Accounts playing for years in WOW

Pff and the Warhammer plugging has got to stop, because the game is a complete no go. Too clunky, no control of your character, silly quests; And the scenarios are SOOOOOO boring gank fests;
Yesterday evening at 11PM they had 3 medium servers on 24 EU servers open Beta. Rest was LOW. Says enough.
Good to dadle abit in War for 3 or 4 days, but so B O R I N G. Cancelled CE of that one.

Premades now available in Wrath beta {WoW}

Sep 5th 2008 8:59AM Well,
I see most of you guys are also already happy copying their avatars to the Beta.

Grtz to all. Must be half of the subs that are already in Beta.
Random my XXX.

A guy who interviewed the developpers at Leipzig also had a Beta key. How conveniant and what a coincidence as a journalist.

friends & co and the suckers who do pay the subs have to wait.

I defended this game far too long.
At least I could order an open beta in Warhammer.

So let tihis be a remark to Wowinsider. I am FED up with hyping over this game and NOT being able to help develop it or play it.

Premades now available in Wrath beta {WoW}

Sep 5th 2008 2:15AM OK

I am fed up with these comments of "I can do this and I can do that" in WotLK Beta.
I always defended this game. I am having loads of shit on me because I support it on such nerd sites like MMORPG.COM.
Having 3 accounts and perhaps one of the biggest "active" players promoting the game....
And everyone apparently is in beta except me.

I am leaving the game. I am serious what kind of bullshit is this "we can do this in Beta" if the big supporters can't even join.

So tx wowinsider for letting me join Warhammer, at least I can PLAY there.

The Art of War(craft): Battleground Achievements part II {WoW}

Aug 28th 2008 7:30PM I am enthousiastic about this !!!!

From mid december till the end of Feb I played about 6 hours a day to have that one and only title "Justicar" from being exalted with the 3 BG's. It takes about 1200 WSG flag captures to become exalted with WSG.
These hectic 10 weeks of playing the BG's for hours every day were fantastic: hard to describe the feeling you get when you become Justicar.

No matter HOW many expansions and gear updates Wow will get I'll have this title forever !
The feeling of having other goals with this new achievement system will be great for some.

Phasing is the new instancing {WoW}

Aug 25th 2008 7:02PM In LOTRO this wasn't the same technique.

In LOTROyou had an upload of an instance; This is completley different: you don't do an instance upload. No loading sceens...
