The Daily Grind: What game can you never truly leave behind? {Massively}

Feb 4th 2011 11:59AM UO was the first great love. I played the UO Freeshard IPY when it hit and i intend to check out IPY2 when it releases as well.

Besides that, WoW usually pulls me in with every expansion. But each time has been less engaging then the previous go round. This past expansion, Cataclysm, I logged in for a week and decided WoW just isn't for me anymore. I can no longer enjoy it which is sad =/.

Currently I am in a hardcore marriage to Darkfall which i think has changed gaming for me forever (this i think is both a good and bad thing). Nothing else comes close to the adrenaline rush of DF. Its hard to play anything else, even with all DF's flaws.

The Soapbox: Sandboxes and the cop-out of FFA PvP {Massively}

Jan 5th 2011 1:52PM After reading both articles, I don't believe Bree really read Jeff's article with anything more than a passing glance.

Almost all the "counter points" are not actual points that Jeff makes. And thus, her article comes off as an over sensitive forum warrior heralding an age old anti FFA PvP cause, or at the very least an over reaction stemming from a lack of insight and understanding into the original authors article.

Choose My Adventure: A fond farewell (but not really) to dear old Darkfall {Massively}

Dec 30th 2010 2:23PM (Long time Vet here)

I'd also point you guys too "The Empire" as a fast paced and interesting way to jump start your DF experience. Like NEW, Empire takes new players and gives them a direction to grow in.

However, unlike NEW, they are involved in much more PvP and politics around the world and are not quite as sheltered from the rest of the Game.

Just an idea.

Choose My Adventure: Special treatment, or how I learned to stop worrying and love the gank {Massively}

Dec 1st 2010 11:55AM Its weird reading the perspective of a newer player. A lot changes as you become more accustomed to the game. But i think its great you're having a good time.

DF is all about having the right perspective and attitude. A little patience and cunning and you'll be in love forever...

... or at least until you reach the high end magic grind and start to pull all your hair out with how much macro'ing u need to do. But offline skilling will fix all that...Rofl.

Darkfall PvE expansion delayed {Massively}

Jul 15th 2010 11:40AM Unfortunately, if you look at AV's track record, this is par for the course. Still its good too know they're working hard to make sure things work properly.

I think most players that have been playing the game for some time already expected this and so it doesn't come as too large of a disappointment.

Newer players might be a bit upset.

In the end i'm personally happy with where the game is going, and despite the hiccups, I truly believe we'll get there "fashionably late" :) .

The Daily Grind: Would you want to work in the industry? {Massively}

Mar 19th 2010 10:26AM I would love to work in the industry.

(There was more to this post but i decided that first sentence really says it all.)

Darkfall announces special pricing {Massively}

Mar 3rd 2010 7:50PM Been playing for 2 months and I absolutely love it. Anyone looking for something different could do a lot worse than giving this game a shot.

Sep 15th 2009 4:17PM I anticipate bringing glory to the Empire and honor to my house. Ka'Plah!

So, you think you're a hardcore PvPer, eh? {Massively}

Feb 21st 2009 4:00PM I'm going to have to echo the sentiments of Droid.

I was there for Pre-trammel UO and i thoroughly enjoy the design of a sand-box MMO. In fact, I have been excited about the release of DF for many years now. Truly a long time follower.

Unfortunately, DF has turned out to be far too one dimensional. It's simply unfinished and cannot accurately be considered a fully realized sand-box game.

It has potential sure. But lots of things have potential, and i can only find the stomach to support things that actually succeed, which sadly I don't think DF will accomplish. We'll see, maybe 6 months out all the issues will be fixed and it will be a great game. Time will tell, but i wont hold my breath.
