Sep 16th 2011 9:20AM Well, I think we are about to become involuntary participants in Blizzard's experiment undertaken to find out how much they actually need to reduce the difficulty for the new Raid Finder coming in 4.3. Hence the sudden (and probably gradual) nerfs, until they see the numbers they want to see in terms of bossed downed by PuGs, etc. That is my tinfoil hat theory for you, Anne, in exchange for getting to regularly enjoy yours.
Aug 25th 2011 10:35AM I really do not like what you have done with point 6 there, despite of the caveat, like there were not enough players already with unenchanted gear and empty jewel sockets, because they will "replace it soon" (TM).
For almost every enchant, there is a somewhat weaker and much less expensive alternative, and there are also green quality gems which sell for next to nothing.
And for the extra effort you have put into your character, I will rank you a lot higher from the start regardless of the ilevel of your gear and the fact that you are still learning to play yor class, cause we all have to begin somewhere. People do learn over time but their approach to matters seldom changes.
Aug 23rd 2011 12:06PM Why do people have to take this black-or-white approach to the attunements?
I think they are fun and give you sense of achievement - when doing them while they are relevant and for the first time only.
So, Blizz... Implement attunements for 5.0 raids and heroics, however:
- do it as an account-wide thing, no need to bother the alts; and
- remove the requirement (not the quests) when the respective content becomes less relevant (e.g. for Cata heroics that would be in 4.1, for the 4.0 raids in 4.2, etc., you get the picture).
There, problem solved. Feel free to mail me the cheque.
Oct 13th 2010 10:49AM As a resto druid since vanilla days, I will not miss the old ToL form. The reused model that looked like a log with just a few remaining and already dead leaves always felt to me as a travesty of what tree of life should be.
Thus, I have never really understood the nerd outrage when Blizzard announced it was going the way of dodo.
Maybe it is because I used to heal in caster form before BC so I do not really find it odd to go back to the roots (pun inteded).
That, and also the negativist reactions on mmo-champion to the new ToL models disgust me. People really will bitch about anything. Understandably, you cannot please everybody but the internet discussions sometimes make it seem like it is the other way around - that you cannot please anyone at all.
Aug 24th 2009 10:10AM Two things with respect to the authenticators:
(1) I have been using a similar device (from another company) for my on-line banking for almost six years now and the battery is still going strong. So this is not much of a worry.
(2) Also, not only are the generated codes limited by time, they are consumed upon use too. You cannot use the same code twice (just checked this - generated a code, logged in to my bank, than logged out and tried to log in immediately with the same code - did not work) - so unless someone can snatch the code from you AS you are entering it and log in faster then you, it seems to be quite safe.
May 18th 2009 9:14AM No offense, but the choice between glyphing for a spell I may cast only every 20 minutes (however useful it may be in specific situations) or glyphing for a spell I cast tens of times during a single boss fight seems clear to me, considering I can only have three major glyphs.
Apr 14th 2009 11:04AM Actually, I do like the design of Voldrethar. It very much complements the whole Greek mythology style of the Titans.
And, as an added bonus, you could probably wield this one in battle, unlike most of the Tournament weapons :-)
Apr 14th 2009 10:45AM All of this has me wondering... How far can one go these days just using the standard-issue Blizzard WoW UI and macros?
After all, most addons are more a convenience than necessity - the only thing that I am not sure I could easily live without is the Grid + Clique combo for healing.
Anyone has experience with going "back to basics"?
Feb 27th 2009 7:50AM I was thinking about assignment for holy paladin on Loatheb. My idea was to task him with topping the tank and perhaps one other player (the most damaged one at the moment).
More/better ideas anyone?
Jan 28th 2009 9:49AM As a healer, I do not have issues with healing life-tapping locks during an extended fight or after a fight. I can get you back to full HP for a fraction of my mana, so no hard feelings.
That said please DO NOT life tap while the tank is pulling. This is just an awful idea for a number of reasons. Either do it before the pull or wait until aggro is established on a tank.
Other than that, I still love you, lock was my first char by the way.
