Patch 3.3 PTR: New tutorial system to be bigger, better {WoW}

Oct 25th 2009 6:55PM You know what to do to improve the start experience for new players?

GIVE THEM SOME BAGS.

Class specific buffs become craftable items {WoW}

Aug 27th 2009 2:42PM See! I can't even get the words right! :p

Class specific buffs become craftable items {WoW}

Aug 27th 2009 2:14PM If I cared even a little bit about end-game rading, my leatherworking resto shaman would be very happy right now. A healer with a unique buff and able to replicate others? *Evil laugh*

Around Azeroth: In loving memory {WoW}

Aug 4th 2009 10:14AM That's really sweet.

Do you think that if I sent them a message telling them my giant land-walking raven mount has died and I wanted to commemorate it in-game, they'd send me one?

Breakfast Topic: Nobody understands me {WoW}

Jun 1st 2009 10:09AM I will ALWAYS activate my socket bonus. I don't care if the bonus is worthless and it takes a sub-optmial gem to get it; it must be activated!

(I don't raid or arena, so min-maxing be damned.)

Shifting Perspectives: The Tree Druid's future, part II {WoW}

May 26th 2009 11:54AM Would Trees casting damage spells, and Boomkins healing, be imba if they received none of their spellpower bonuses in those forms? There are countless 'receives an additional X% of your spellpower' talents, so it's clearly possible to assign spellpower to only certain spells. They can still do *something*, but base spells at level 80 (and like it or not, that's what they will always balance around) with no spellpower will hit like damp tissue paper.

Worth bearing in mind that shadow priests have to drop form to gain access to their healing, though I guess they still have vampiric abilities to top themselves up.

Breakfast Topic: What non-combat pets do you want implemented? {WoW}

May 22nd 2009 8:46AM GIEF BABIEY SHOVELTUSK.

Breakfast Topic: So much for Children's Week {WoW}

May 8th 2009 8:50AM Best bit of Children's Week?

Selling Delicious Chocolate Cakes at 50g each.

Insider Trader: Evolution of Fishing {WoW}

Apr 25th 2009 6:20PM Frankly, I'm kind of annoyed they removed the fishing skill requirements for each zone. I've had awful luck with the gold coins from the fountain and want to keep at it, but now the fountain's clogged with Johnny-Come-Latelies levelling their fishing. I'm a Fishing Elitist and I don't care! I mean, none of this actually matters, but I'm kind of a bit disappointed that they've made fishing, which was so optional and somewhat masochistic to level up, easier: I liked being one of the weirdoes that actually bothered to fish when nobody did it.

I'm glad they put the Black Jelly recipe in: good mana regen from the stupid Borean Man O'War, and the Glassfin Minnow alchemy recipe is helpful too I guess.

My main's a shaman, so water walking means I'm not at all bothered about fishing boats.

Also nerf Pygmy Suckerfish. I liked them being rare and being able to sell them on. Now they come up on like three quarters of catches and just clog up my bags and aren't even worth the trouble of auctioning.

A guide to shutting out the world (of Warcraft) {WoW}

Apr 8th 2009 2:00PM I play WoW solo 99% of the time. I will occasionally heal an instance. I have no desire to raid. I have no desire to play Arena. I quite like Wintersgrasp.

'zomg nub why are you playing an MMORPG then?!'
Because I like it. I enjoy maxing my trade skills. I enjoy silly little things like the vanity pets. I enjoy levelling alts. I enjoy working the Auction House and getting the most money I can. I enjoy crafting stuff for people sometimes.

I play WoW for escapism. I'm a fairly decent healer, but I don't want to schedule my play time and sit in front of my computer for four hours to do a raid. I like to dip in and out. And for that reason as much as anything I don't want to be in a big guild, or raid, or Arena - I don't want to do anything that makes me feel beholden to a big group of others and end up playing the game because I 'have' to. (I've seen it happen to friends who were raid healers. It's not pretty.)

And as has been said, an RP server is actually your best bet if you want some peace and quiet. People are generally a bit more polite, but the RP rules certainly aren't as strict as Amanda suggests.
