Apr 1st 2009 7:31AM You're supposed to wait until April 1st before making your April Fool's Day post, Eliah.
Feb 18th 2009 4:19PM I'm thinking, pretty strongly, of quitting WoW. I don't want to raid (I'm not prepared to schedule the time and it wouldn't be fair on my guild to expect them to wait around for my whims) and I don't want to arena. Even my altoholism is fading.
What shall I do with my stuff? I'll have a good few thousand gold across my alts, plus metric asstons of leather, enchanting mats, herbs, gems, ore and so on. (Seriously. Altoholic.) My first option was just to give it all to my RL friend, but is there anything more creative? I thought of running to the Valley of Trials and making some level one troll very happy, but I'd want it to be a genuine newbie, rather than somebody's alt. Any suggestions?
Feb 1st 2009 1:17PM I've tried, but I just can't play Alliance. My highest is a 30 Draenei mage. I find every single Alliance race except female draenei and female humans repulsively ugly. (My main love for Blood Elves was the chance to play a male character that wasn't built like a brick shithouse.) I just find them to be, as a Faction, a bit too clean-cut and simultaneously unwilling to look at their own flaws. I hate Ironforge more than any other capital city, although Darnassus is a close second.
I finally got round to finishing Hero Of The Mag'har this morning - soloed Auchenai Crypts and so on - and it kind of emphasised why I love the Horde: the attempts at redemption, the slow rebuilding after their sins - I just find Horde lore more interesting and rewarding.
Also, undead females have the best unarmed and warrior special attack animations in the entire game.
Jan 23rd 2009 9:43AM People ... make fires? For cooking?
I'm obsessed with WoW cooking. I have my Chef title. I haven't carried wood or flint and tinder since I hit about level five on my first character and realised that there are thousands of fires burning all over the place.
Jan 15th 2009 9:25AM Two things that could make priests much happier, I think. (My highest priest is 30 and shadow, so this is theory!)
1) Let them cleanse poisons. They're supposed to be master healers. WotLK has lots of poisons. Make them talent for it, if necessary, like shammies talent to remove curses, but let them remove poisons.
2) CoH was hugely overpowered. The cooldown was unpopular but it needed a nerf. To counter the cooldown, give CoH the same effect that Riptide has, and haste the next two heals cast (say Flash and Greater). By which time the cooldown will be nearly done and you can cast CoH again.
Ooh - three things. Let a glyph or a talent reduce the cooldown on CoH too, maybe down to four seconds.
Jan 14th 2009 7:27AM Ha! I had the opposite problem. Main is resto shammy.
I'm freshly 80 and have only done Nexus and UK normal so far. I'm not familiar with the instances. Since 80, I have done cooking dailies and little else - certainly not geared up other than making myself the purple chest and boots from leatherworking.
I've got about 14k mana and 1,300 +heal with earthliving on. Someone was insisting I could come heal them through heroic Utgarde Pinnacle. I'm a decent healer, but the fact that I had neither the gear nor the experience to do the run didn't dissuade them. I just logged out in the end.
Jan 13th 2009 1:47PM Hrm.
I don't know. I generally think that 'wtf t00 eazy i can faceroll purps' crowd need to chill out a wee bit, I do wish Blizzard would stick in some ultrahard content just to Shut. Them. The. Hell. Up.
10 mans should be not super-difficult. 25-mans should be appropriately hard - MUCH harder than 10-man.
I'm honestly not likely to see either because I epitomise casual, with no desire to schedule play as is necessary for raiding, but you know? Go for it. Stick a boss in Uld with 15,000,000,0000 hit points and a 40 second enrage timer, and instant death if you stand in the fire.
Jan 13th 2009 12:03PM My resto shaman troll main is the only one with that name on all the EU servers, which I love, plus her name just 'sounds' trolly to me.
My belf rogue only shares a name with, erm, a belf rogue that I made on another server.
My belf priest must have a Scandinavian sounding name, Lyus, cos I get whispers in Swedish, or asking if I'm Danish.
My undead lady frost mage, who has the face with the big straps across the eyes, is Tyresial, like Tiresias the blind prophet (who got turned into a woman).
Dec 17th 2008 5:16PM Sshhh!
Don't TELL them! I like being one of the few people who cooks (and fishes) and makes stupid money from it.
I'm a complete altoholic and every single one of them levels cooking and fishing as they go. I feel like a character is incomplete if it doesn't have a gathering, a crafting, cooking, and fishing. First aid - meh. I play a lot of healers so I powerlevel that at the end for the sake of it.
Dec 8th 2008 11:44AM I just need last week's mammoth recipe for the emotion foods - I think making world drop BoP recipes a requirement was a mistake, really. I got the other three just from random outdoor vykrul mobs, but farming for it forever seems absurd. I know you only have to eat it, not make it, but given that you have to make 45 out of 46 recipes, I want every one I can get.
I managed to get the Delicious Chocolate Cake recipe on my very first hand-in for The Rokk. The RNG loved me that day.
I've gone and killed Cookie in the Deadmines, so I've got my rolling pin ready for when I finally get my Chef title. A fish in the off hand and I'll be sorted.
Also, chilled meat is completely ridiculous. The convention daily is absurd - 12 northern stew when the drop rate on chilled meat has fallen so drastically is crazy, and I'm not prepared to pay the 40+g per stack that my server asks at the AH.
