Sep 17th 2008 4:35PM This is the stupidest analysis I have ever seen. There is a line and one side is good and one side is bad? Absolute rubbish. Different appeals to different. I like Tetris AND WoW, and I think they are both good at being what they are. Who tells people they are having fun wrong? What a loser.
Aug 22nd 2008 10:51AM I understand the desire for a live picture, but i think the epic fail potential would be just too high unless they actually got Brian Singer or Peter Jackson to do the film. I would not trust anyone else to fit the CGI and the live action footage together in a way that didn't look totally crappy. Simple things like the exterior of any Orc building that look awesome in a game, look like turd when you have to try to create them from paster and fit them into a natural landscape. An animated film would be a sure success, though, with easily translatable art design and truly epic settings.
Aug 22nd 2008 10:43AM ISir Ian McKellan would be my A-1 choice for Cairn Bloodhoof or any important Tauren. I don't know about any other specific characters, but i think Vin Diesel would make a great undead rogue.
All male gnomes should be voiced by Nancy Cartwright.
All female gnomes should be voiced by Yeardly Smith.
I take that back. I would prefer the movie not include gnomes.
Aug 21st 2008 11:41AM I definitely agree that the data set is missing any real qualitative information. There are a few assumption leaps one could make from participation to effectiveness, however. For example, people are less likely to play if (like Shaman or hunters) they have no utility. They are also less likely to play if other people actively avoid teaming with their class. Similarly people are more likely to play if they are both effective and other people are recruiting their class into arena teams.
Aug 21st 2008 11:25AM The real winners are Warriors. Consistent at three means effective, but never quite OP enough to get the nerf Bat. I play a Resto Shaman. I learned quickly that while invaluable in PVE design, outside of second rate flag running, I have no significant role in real pvp.
Aug 21st 2008 11:18AM Ew, quoting Gregg Easterbrook is gross. He's the most deliberately inaccurate editorialist I have ever read.
Aug 21st 2008 11:12AM I would have been happy with anything Blizz did for a cinematic, as long as it didn't have gnomes in it.
Aug 14th 2008 3:37PM Well, healing just got that much easier and that much more boring. Right now i appreciate the ability to use some judgment on what the best heal is at the best time. I feel like there is at least SOME strategy to the raid healing whack-a-mole game. As a Resto Shaman, I have a grand total of 4 healing spells. One is Earth shield which is not reactive. One is lesser healing wave which is completely useless. One is for tanks and one is for raid damage. If Wow is really going to take away the need to downrank and totem twist, then I could adopt a chimp and train it to raid heal while I sit back and have a beer. If the Brown box lights up, left click. If any other box lights up, right click. I'll make him a totem/Earthshield cast sequence macro and set a repeating two minute timer. it'll be great.
Aug 13th 2008 5:36PM If people stayed up all night refreshing a page trying to get tickets, they themselves have some problems that Blizzard can't fix.
