Breakfast Topic: Roto-scoping is not animation {WoW}

May 12th 2010 10:21AM I agree, Dwarf female with long hair casting is wonderful. They have so much magic it's whipping everything around. Unfortunately, by the time I got to my Dwarf priestess, I had way too many alts and my human priest at 70~. But maybe I'll go back... or wait til I can make a dwarf mage!

The Queue: Wherein we are aghast {WoW}

Dec 22nd 2009 8:10PM I also take issue with Sylvannas wanting to kill everything that lives. She did order a plague way back at the beginning of her reign, commissioning her Royal Apothecary Society to devise a plague that would kill Humans like the former plague (since Humans had turned against undead indiscriminately. Understandable but life-threatening) and the Scourge, the force that had turned the Forsaken into Forsaken. What I believe happens over the course of WoW is that the RAS, though favored and cultivated by Sylvannas, expanded the parameters of the plague. While Sylvannas probably wouldn't object to killing the Alliance races, they were not part of the original plan, and the Horde races certainly were not.
The RAS always acts as though they have Sylvannas's approval but many times they hide their tracks. The Tauren girl they kill is passed off as an accident and they actively destroy anyone who may reveal the plague's full power a la Nothing but the Truth.
Sylvannas's original intent was to kill all Scourge and Humans. The RAS changed that to everything that breathes.

Know Your Lore: World of Warcraft Cataclysm Gilneas {WoW}

Aug 24th 2009 8:36AM Isn't Kul Tiras still around, making Gilneas one of two remaining nations? I don't remember reading that it got razed? Simply because it isn't represnented physically doesn't mean it it doesn't exist. Jaina's brother is ruling currently I believe.

Breakfast Topic: Most evil quest in the game {WoW}

Jul 8th 2008 12:25PM Also, Braelyn has been there since launch or close enough. She, like Neeru, represents the fine line we walk by keeping tabs on our former allies, turned enemies. Such individuals offer us quests that give us a choice; to take the power and be corrupted or to take the high road. Nothing forces you to behead the Keeper of the Grove at Raynewood. You don't have to slaughter the Laughing Sisters. But perhaps you ought to to prevent the Nelf hold in the upper mountain reaches from soldifying.

The Horde is in a much more precarious position than the Alliance. They face more difficult choices and don't have the luxury of calling foul from their well-defended and maintained keeps. So yes the Horde is darker and more chaotic. But evil? Only a few. Just like the Alliance. At least we're mostly loyal to our leaders which can't be said for the Humans or Night Elves.

Breakfast Topic: Most evil quest in the game {WoW}

Jul 8th 2008 12:15PM In defense of the Forsaken, all plague quests are under the supervision of the Royal Apothecary Society which Sylvannas has authorized to create a New Plague to wipe out the Scourge and Humans. Unbeknownst to anyone but the RAS (and anyone who does the relevant quests) is that the RAS has broadened the scope of the plague to include all living things. Although the Grimtotem Clan will probably be safe thanks to Magatha and her meddling.

There are plenty of quests in which the Forsaken are not misanthropic genocidal maniacs. Just don't expect that from any Forsaken with the Apothecary tag.
