Oct 12th 2010 2:26PM I dumped WoW 6 months ago because they refuse to invest in their own mint. I will never understand why they cannot take the time to refine all of the graphics and get it out of the best 2002 has to offer, and just leave the crap option for crap computers.
The profit they make doesn't justify the content being pushed to me. They haven't released a decent raid since the Black Temple, and they have absolutely no excuse.
Aug 31st 2010 10:30AM You know, that's a good point. I should re-install.
Aug 27th 2010 12:19PM It will always amuse me how everyone thinks they get the point, but they clearly don't. I'm referring to both the author and the commentors. Nobody wants to see this from Square's perspective.
This is about control. It's about Square putting limits in place that allows them to set deadlines and schedules on their end. They now know, with some predictability, precisely when players will reach that maximum level. They know what day it will happen, then they can estimate what percentage of players will reach it in each month following. This allows them as a business to accurately time their content, patch releases, and expansions. It will seem like magic that the precise moment a certain percentage of players reaches that threshold they will have new content available.
It's brilliant on their end, it keeps the craziness under control, it gently suggests the kiddies to leave the house from time to time, and it is one of the best ideas Square has ever had.
It is impossible, I repeat, impossible, to produce content at a pace with unrestricted player advancement. This is why WoW is stuck with this 6 months lull in interest because they have no content left. This is why everything in WoW is now rushed. They can't control the rabid players. All they can do is offer the ability to make alts and grind moar.
With this system, they have predictability. And it will help them schedule their content with razor sharp precision.
Get a clue.
Aug 4th 2010 10:22AM Yes, they are, thanks to the lack of interest in updating player models. Ohh pushing agenda ftw
Jul 21st 2010 9:28PM Now, if we could only not switch between the two like it's no big deal, it would be great.
Jul 13th 2010 11:41AM Character models.
Jul 7th 2010 6:09PM One of the greatest, if not the greatest, stories in WoW. I pray that they give AQ some serious attention, and revitalize the magnificent raids they were.
Jun 4th 2010 10:06AM I'm two hours from LA and I'm sorry to say that $150 is far too much.
May 26th 2010 10:09AM If a game comes out that is essentially WoW with much better graphics, you bet your butt I'm history, as I'm sure are many others. These dated graphics have to go.
