Feb 14th 2012 8:12AM The warrior song that you picked is ok but it's a bit bland for a warrior honestly. For some reason, Eye of the Tiger always pops into my head when playing my warrior. Something about all that hard work and sweat that Rocky puts in while doing his typical training montage seems to fit with the bare knuckle, straight-forward approach of the warrior class. No nonsense, just straight ahead head-bashing.
Dec 8th 2010 7:59AM Wow, this was a big mistake by Blizzard. The core of Guild Achievements is that people would work together and achieve a positive, tangible benefit for the guild. This was something that our guild really rallied behind and held onto going into Cataclysm. We had members saving all of their greens to DE after Cata came out so that they would count towards the DE'ing achievement (instead of DE'ing them when they got them and funding their own causes). We also had members farming up tons of meat to stockpile feasts that would count toward 5000 feast cooking achievement. We had upwards of 3000 feasts saved up and ready to go.
Now, all of that hard work was wasted. There is no tangible benefit for the guild other than a pointless achievement. I can understand if Blizzard was worried about guild's leveling too fast because of achievements. However, the philosophy, the core idea behind it was a good one. Would scaling achievements so that they give less reward be a more prudent solution rather than scrapping the whole system right outright?
Removing any game mechanic that encourages people to do something for the greater good rather than be selfish is just a mind boggling.
Nov 2nd 2010 9:37AM One more quick one: The ditch digger in Darnassus.
"The world needs ditch diggers too Danny." - Caddyshack.
Nov 2nd 2010 9:33AM A couple that always make me grin are the bankers in Stormwind: Olivia, Newton, & John. I interacted with them for well over a year before seeing that one.
Then, when griefing UC during Hallow's End the other day, I saw that the UC bankers were named Randolph, Mortimer and William (or Willy or something) which is a reference to Trading Places. Good flick!
Nov 1st 2010 11:24AM Any update from Blizzard around certain classes and specs getting viable forms of CC? With Blizzard's insistance that more CC be used, certain classes come to mind (sheeps, sap, traps, hexes, banish, cyclone, etc.). What about everyone else? Is my Fury warrior going to find it impossible to get into a heroic again like it was with Magister's Terrace because his CC options are so limited?
Apr 26th 2010 3:33PM A couple professions were given special daily quests or cooldowns as an easy way to money on a consistent and easy basis. Alchemists could do their epic gem transmute. JC's could run their daily and sell the dragon's eye. Miners could sell their titansteel cooldown or just buy the mats and sell the bar for a profit. These simple tasks equated to very easy and quick gold for whoever went through the effort of leveling the profession. I just wish it was more accessible to other professions. While other professions might have been just as profitable, it wasn't quite as easy or required an understanding of how the AH and server economy worked. I am able to make a ton of gold with my blacksmithing, don't get me wrong. But it's ridiculously easy to log into an alt, do my gem transmute, send it to my JC main, cut the gem (gems if it procs), do the JC daily, then run to the AH to sell the cut gem and the dragon's eye. I am able to get 300g or so right off the bat for doing those 2 things each day that take less than 5 minutes total. If my alchemy transmute procs, it's possible to make upwards of 500g. I just wish other professions had something this easy as a reward for going through the pain of leveling a profession.
Apr 9th 2010 12:51PM Wow, what an incredible thread!!
After reading all of the previous posts, the ideas for a healing consecrate for pally's and the resto treants for a druid are pure win! These ideas are fantastic, should be easy to implement, and seem to fit well with the class.
While not necessarily a direct healing spell, I feel as though druids need a new talent or ability to help with tank survival. Much in the same way pally's are gimped with raid healing, druids are gimped in terms of tank heals. Pally's are obvious tank healers and have cooldowns to help them out. Priests as well can heal tanks effectively and have either Pain Suppresion or Guardian Spirit. Shamans can be effective tank healers and can provide the damage reduction buff. What do druids have that can help tanks? It was mentioned earlier but a Barkskin type effect would be nice to pass out. Another option would be a last stand type or vampiric blood type cooldown to use. Having another tank cooldown to use would be nice at times, require some good coordination, and help druids bring something to the table to help out the tanks.
Another druid ability that I would be interested to see would be a varient of Typhoon. I conal spell that would launch soothing/refreshing water over raid members to reinvigerate them. Having a directional aspect to a healing spell would add a new twist for any healer really.
I'm not sure why but I really want to see a holy pally ability where they smash their mace into their shield. It would be like a gong almost. They smash their weapon into their shield and a blast wave of light/healing radiates from it. I guess it would be sort of similar to Eadric the Pure's Radiance.
Mar 17th 2010 8:14AM I REFUSE to do any of the Valentine Day achievements. I like achievements and go out of my way to some extent to get them. However, Valentine's Day IRL is a crock and it's even worse in game. Everyone running around with freaking hearts over their head and those stupid umbrellas and picnics everywhere. Give me a frickin break. I will never have my Violet Proto and I'm perfectly fine with that. A small price to pay for not getting tied into that nonsense.
Feb 19th 2010 8:24AM Our guild has been clearing 25 ToC for months now. I have cleared it personally 14 times while the guild has 19 or 20 clears. As a guild, we have yet to see a single Death's Verdict trinket drop from Twins. Not a single one, in 20 clears as a guild. One guildy was lucky enough to pick it up in a pug but that's it. We are going to keep clearing it as a guild until that freakin thing drops!
Luckily though, our first 4 or 5 times clearing Saurfang in 25 ICC yielded a very nice Deathbringer's Will. That was very welcome from our physial dps'ers obviously but we still have 2 trinket slots. We need to start seeing that Death's Verdict!!
