Nov 14th 2011 12:39PM Tim, do you know anyone who stacked druids specifically for using Tranquility on Chimaeron? I've never heard of it. That was the most ideal situation possible, it didn't happen then, and now it likely will never happen again because even at their laziest, WoW has been pretty good about not carbon copying encounters.

Nov 13th 2011 9:40PM This "massive" utility is generally useless, and here's why--Chimaeron was the ideal situation for hybrid healing to shine: You needed extra healing for feuds, and you couldn't effectively dps in that phase. So healing from hybrids should be great there, right?

Well, the problem was you had to deal with multiple feuds, but the cooldown of Tranquility only let you help once. So your healers need to be able to get through the phase without the dps hybrid's help, and if the raid needed more healing, you brought in another healer.

Mar 31st 2011 5:22PM Trying to zerg rush the last base usually fails because of the defenders have a shorter travel time between bases.

On my server, as soon as the offensive side contests the 2nd base (i.e., moves the slider into the neutral gray section), one third to one half of the attackers move to establish defense back at Base #1. We do this because when the attackers control 2 of 3 bases, they don't just capture the last base at 200% efficiency. They get the 200% bonus throughout the map. The defending faction's zerg can't capture Base #1 before they lose the final base.

The southern towers now have a major impact to the battle. First, while they're up, they give a small damage buff to the attackers.

But this is the huge part: when those towers are destroyed, the attacking team loses 10 minutes off the timer. Since, unlike the keep towers, these towers have no crossfire support they can be brought down with a small guerrilla group. By attacking these towers, they can force a much larger group away from the keep.

It was especially easy last night because our side had no clue that would happen until it was too late, but the defenders apparently got a yelling NPC to clue them in from the start.

Bear armor and FAP changes coming in 3.0.4 {WoW}

Nov 20th 2008 9:11AM The problem is net armor DOES go down with this formula. Quoting someone from the official boards:

"before the change, we would sit at a total armor of 7306 before going into bear. in bearform, a druid with only naxx 25 would have 37772 armor, or 69% total mitigation. however, we now know the exactness of the nerf, and find out the following:



pre nerf

armor from leather: 3326
other armor: 3980
total armor: 7306
bear armor: 37772
mitigation %: 69.42


after this nerf takes effect we will see the following, with no gear being changed out.

armor from leather: 3326
bear armor: 28544
other armor: 3266
total armor: 31810
mitigation %: 58.46 "
