Sep 20th 2011 1:24PM 6/7H here. No rogue. And we dont miss it.
Sep 1st 2011 12:11PM Draenei rogues ... yeah, there is a combo with great potential for stealth ...
Jul 4th 2011 5:39PM Prices are still pretty "out there". Right after Cata, everyone was sitting on a load of gold. So everyone could afford the 20K-30K peaces that were all over the place (people would buy 4 or 5 of these). Now, however, people don't have that much money to spend on it, after the money sinks (Drakes, Sands of Time for the epic staff etc). Also, if you consider how much of an upgrade these new items are compared to their old 359/372 items (specially for people with 372 items), they are simply not work 60K+ gold.
The market on most servers is not healthy right now. Prices for everything are all over the place. Costs of raiding are on the rise (new tier = more repairs, more flasks, more food etc). People have to spend gold on enchants, gems etc. Many players are working hard to get dailies and raiding done, with not much time left to make money.
So yeah, until we have enough of a supply to get those Living Embers down to 8K or less, you won't see a big market for it.
Jun 11th 2011 1:05PM I'm sorry Havoc but ... hum ?
Savage defense is not really that good for high end (heroic end bosses) tanking. Sure, there isn't much that we can use. Haste is a bad joke. Crit is bleh. We pretty much only want Agility, Dodge and Stamina (in that order). So maybe we could make a point that hit/expertise is "less worthless" than haste, or even crit. But it would be extremely marginal. I probably won't even bother upgrading the item.
Now, for 5man, I agree that hit and expertise are both very important, and I even carry some trinkets and the TB staff around for that.
May 31st 2011 7:38PM Interestingly enough, I keep hearing it from my healers. The easiest to heal are:
Bear -> Warrior -> Paladin -> DK
Since I'm not really a healer, and just a bear tank, I can't comment on how accurate that is.
Mar 10th 2011 2:28PM Healer shortage can be easily seen on the LFG tool. Regarding lvl 85 heroic queues:
If you queue as tank: 1min or less queue time
If you queue as dps: 30min+ queue time
If you queue as healer: 4-5min queue time
So yeah, the tank shortage is still larger, but healers are also hard to find.
Mar 4th 2011 12:27PM Speaking Portuguese in trade chat is, if I recall correctly, a violation of the ToS, which just goes to show ...
I'm not surprised I'm the first Brazilian you've met that is like that. The ones that think like that are not likely to be found on Warsong, Gurubashi or other BR-infested servers. We try and stay away from those.
Speaking Portuguese on a english speaking server, located in US, tallied toward english speaking players, is an extreme act of disrespect. The same way I would consider disrespect speaking english on a pt or pt-BR server. Respect toward other players is one of the main problems I have with most (again, not all) brazilian players I've met online, language being only one of the problems. Don't get me wrong, brazilians are not the only ones plagued by that. One could even say that is because of the age average of brazilian players being lower than several other countries (gaming in Brazil is still considered a kid activity).
And OMG. I rather pay international phone fees than try contacting WoW support in Brazil. I'm sorry, but I have a hard enough time dealing with telecom companies (Oi, Embratel, Telefonica, even CTBC), the last thing I need is another bad brazilian support service.
Lemme tell you all that I would never relocate from Brazil to USA. I like living here, and even thinking of living in USA gives me the shivers. However, service (specially customer services) in Brazil is a nightmare.
Mar 3rd 2011 11:44PM I'm an english speaking brazilian, and hell will freeze over before I transfer to brazilian servers. Heck, I would never even transfer to Warsong. There are several reasons for that:
- I'm here to play, not to translate stuff to people who can't speak english
- Translation sucks. I don't even read translated books. Playing a translated/localized game ? No way in hell
- WoW is a very good opportunity for me to practice my english skills
- I mostly can't stand playing with other brazilians. I can sympathize with americans who thing the same way (the guy who commented on the bad tanks from Warsong, I'm 100% with you there)
- I'm pretty sure WoW will be more expensive here, in local currency
- God, can you imagine talking with a brazilian GM ?
So for me (and I do live in Brazil), this will go mostly unnoticed. Except that, hopefully, I will meet less brazilians on the US server.
Note: There were 2 or 3 brazilians that I've met in WoW who were good players and spoke english. Those were cool. And for the rest ... well, lets say I hope blizzard allows them to transfer.
Mar 1st 2011 12:10PM As I druid, I have to say I like DKs getting a brez. Give them something useful to do, besides "go there and brez tank, while I tank on my dps spec in blood presence" (and then I come back at see half my healer's mana is gone). Maybe boomkins will be bothered by this, but certainly not druid tanks (or resto druids).
Seriously, DKs can have their brez, and they are welcome to it.
Finally Blizzard understood that brez is an important part of fight mechanics, and gave someone else the ability to do it. I hope they change Warlock Soulstone to work along the same lines. That will give 3 classes brez, making is more readily available to everyone.
Jan 13th 2011 3:47PM I will take B5 over the new Galactica any day. B5 main storyline was defined before they even started shooting the pilot, which is how we can get so much consistency.
On a different note, I will also take Zarthras over Vir. That is a character to remember forever.
