Oct 24th 2009 3:56AM Of course lag will always occur and the majority of the reports will be unrelated to any server issues. If there is a sudden spike in the number of reports on a specific realm or across the board they will know something is up.
Generally speaking, it's like the pedestrial crossing buttons ( http://is.gd/4yXT7 ) except that they're probably aggregating the results. Not entirely different from how the report spam functionality presently works.
Oct 11th 2009 4:29PM We had the same Yogg-Saron dilemma when ToC came out. We decided to extend our Ulduar raid lockout by a week so we would have ample time to learn and down Yogg-Saron. The OCD in me was pleased (haha).
Focusing on a mix might be best, though. At least doing regular mode ToC might be the best plan of action since on regular mode the encounters are relatively easy once you get the mechanics down and it lets everyone build up the emblems (and a few purples to boot). Outside of faction champions hangups we can often do this in one night with time to spare for Onyxia.
Sep 24th 2009 12:53AM My guild tried it on 10-man tonight and the transition from phase 2 to phase 3 was giving us a hell of a time. The immediate fear combined with the floor and the random couplafew adds that'll inevitably be running around really make things hectic. We gave up, but it does seem like if you can make it through the transition into phase 3 you're home free... maybe we'll get him soon!

"As Matthew Rossi pointed out..." - My point exactly.
"Secondly, if I may ask, if a post like this is a waste of your time, than why are you bothering to reply to it?" - I like WoW.com. A lot of their articles are very informative and timely. Other parts seem like filler to me. I probably could've found a more eloquent way to make that point but my feelings remain that posts like this seem like filler to me. I felt like this was a point worth making, so I don't think making it was a waste of time.
I'm not upset that the article wasted my time (or really upset at all :P), but more that it's just pointless. No time saving tips were given except in the comments, and even those apparently don't work for Horde due to where the NPCs spawn (unless you have everyone wait outside, run in after introductions but before the NPCs have situated themselves, etc...). Is this really worth a whole article?
I don't mean to pick on this post specifically, and also don't feel like I've overlooked the target audience issue mentioned in a previous response. I just have the opinion that WoW.com would be better without the filler -- there's enough good content here where the filler isn't needed.
Apparently I'm alone in that opinion, though.
Aug 20th 2009 4:18PM Anyone who's gone through 80 levels and hasn't figured out that starting an event starts... the event... might need more help than this site will offer.
I realize there's a wider audience -- but look at this post for a moment. The title promises a way to speed up the process, goes on for four or five paragraphs about how excited the author is to run this dungeon, and when I finally get to the "speed things up" portion I come to find out I'm still supposed to go make a sandwich while the boring introduction is going on.
What've I missed here?
"Typing the phrase 'sorry to heckle' and then proceeding to do so is like saying "I don't mean to be offensive" just before you insult someone's mother." -- whoa whoa, what? Heckling is something people do to disturb the performance or display of a piece of work which certainly wasn't my attempt. I just wanted to make it clear I wasn't trying to be an ass or troll the comments. Just giving my two cents.
Aug 20th 2009 3:40PM That doesn't skip the jibba jabba at all... the other people simply aren't standing in the instance for it. Did we not all already know this?
Mod me down, fanboys, but it's true... wouldn't you rather see a few quality posts than filler BS?
Aug 20th 2009 3:10PM Sorry to heckle but this has to be the most pointless article I've ever seen on WoW.com (and I've seen plenty). This website would be better served to have a slow news day than clog the intertubes with garbage like this. Someone's trying hard to meet a quota...
Feb 26th 2009 1:36PM Nerfing HB *and* putting at the bottom of the tree doesn't feel right. One or the other, or up the threat it generates.
