Sep 23rd 2008 11:35AM Once again the undead herd migrates south with the approach of the cold Azerothian winter.

The Warhammer Online open beta test has begun {Massively}

Sep 7th 2008 2:20PM So far I've experienced a wait of 3 hours patching 118 MB only to have the patch die at 94%. Now it seems to be stalled for the last 30 minutes at 30%.

Ask a Beta Tester: Enchanting, legacy content, and a beta medley {WoW}

Sep 3rd 2008 1:41PM I'm wondering how the dungeon tuning is going so far. I assume Blizzards intent is that the earliest 68-73 level dungeons can be accomplished in mixed outland/northrend greens with the mid-high levels 74+ being of mostly northrend green geared players. I also heard the goal is for dungeon runs to be accomplished within an hour time frame. How close are the currently implemented dungeons to these goals?

Ask a Beta Tester: Blacksmithing and sockets, revisited {WoW}

Aug 13th 2008 12:22PM I don't have the blue post handy but I believe they wanted to cut down the lag between the implementation of patch 3.0 and the release of WotLK. It may have been the case that with TBC patch 2.0 was released a month in advance to partially sate the consumers as the expansion experienced a delay of some weeks past a previously announced release date. So maybe we'll see patch 3.0 in a matter of a few weeks before WotLK barring a late delay.

Blizzard: Wrath will be out in Q4 2008 {WoW}

Aug 1st 2008 2:28AM I completely agree. Hopefully this isn't a sign that things are changing for the worse at Blizzard (arbitrary deadlines >> quality). Then again perhaps it's a sign of confidence in their progress on the expansion. Still, it's very odd.

Tinnitus: Leatherworking drums cause a debuff {WoW}

Jul 31st 2008 3:52PM As long as the drum debuff doesn't affect the rest of the band we can add other instruments... Blacksmithing - "The Axe (guitar)", Engineering - "Synthesizer", Alchemist - "The Jug (jug band)", Jewelcrafter - "Crystal Goblets (glass music)"...

Hands-on with Inscription in the Wrath Beta {WoW}

Jul 28th 2008 2:09PM I'm looking forward to inscription simply because my priest picked up herbalism to make gold back in the day. The herb market was pretty strong with just alchemists buying. With the addition of inscription, I wonder how long it will take for the herb market to stabilize. My characters were idle during the start of tBC so I didn't really see what happened to the metal/gem market when jewel crafting was introduced.

Breakfast Topic: Planning for the beta {WoW}

Jul 25th 2008 11:04AM Only invites to Alpha Testers, WoW Laptop buyers, Blizzcon 2007, and WWI folks have gone out. So the beta has started, but no opt in invites have gone out.

Forum post of the day: I need that for my PvP set {WoW}

Jul 17th 2008 3:23AM I've learned to not expect other players (in pugs) to be altruistic in their looting behavior over the years. Sometimes you can avoid problems by agreeing beforehand on a set policy. Other times if the majority of the group feels strongly one way, "that's a tank item", then the dissenter will fall in step with the rest. While I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with the hunter rolling need, it's certainly not something I would have done in his position. If I were in the tanks place I'd be disappointed too but temper that with my "it's a pug, it's a pug" chant. And as someone who often plays a healer I've been through a few runs where a dps caster wanted or "needed" the +heal item since the +damage modifiers were introduced.
