Mar 14th 2012 12:50PM It's funny, I like Gridania, and I started there, but since restarting my game I have gravitated towards Limsa Lominsa, and am now a proud member of the Maelstrom.
If you told me in the beta that I would prefer joining Limsa, I would have laughed. But now I like their pro-adventurer stance so much that I basically emigrated there.
Also I really like Cassopeia Hollow, it's pretty. And it's easier to mine in La Noscea than in the Shroud or Thanalan.
Mar 1st 2012 12:03AM To me, sandbox means weighting towards user-generated content. Tools should be provided to assist, not guide players.
Chiefly I think this means that crafting makes the best gear, there is very little 'questing' from NPCs, and there are tools available for open-world player creations, like housing or EVE's space stations.
Sandboxes also imply higher learning curves, due to the smaller amount of being told what to do. Instead you are told "Do anything!" and left to your own devices.
It's called a sandbox because a box full of sand is boring until someone starts building castles in it.
Feb 29th 2012 11:42PM This was my first MMO! Sad to see it go but frankly I'm amazed it's still around...
It was great fun back in the day, there were a ton of people playing it for the first year or so... I quit to go to FFXI and I remember hearing later that they were basically down to one server...
Ah well, I still have some great memories of EQOA, and I always will.
Feb 18th 2012 9:02PM Ok I just found out that En Masse is a direct subsidiary of Bluehole, so I guess that hashes my complaint about them acting like they're the devs.
The more you know...
Feb 18th 2012 8:39PM Oh wow, how terrible that people behaved politely and fairly.
The thing that really grinds my gears, though, is the way En Masse keeps talking like they're the developer.
Hell, even the Elin Shorts were made by Bluehole.
Anyhow, game looks neat, looking forward to checking it out in a few more days.
Feb 18th 2012 8:29PM Ugh. Sorry, but this is a terrible review.
I can honestly say I've learned more about this game from 3 days of watching Youtube videos than you seem to have from actually playing.
Picking the class that is noted on the TERA website as the most tricky (esp as a tank) and complaining that it was hard to tank? Really?
Also smack talk about Elin is just pandering for hits.
I am not a huge fan of this game. I have not followed the news about it for very long at all. You need to do some research and try harder.
Seriously. You get paid to write this stuff.
Dec 9th 2011 10:13PM Sad, this could have been a good game.

Well, that's Vette, so she's most likely about to get a collar shock.
Nov 22nd 2011 8:51AM 7x not much is not much.
Nov 21st 2011 9:35PM I play a lot of games already...
but if I could take a RL vacation in a fictional world, that would be neat.
So I'd like to actually go on vacation in... damn everywhere in games is deadly.
Guess I'll stick to playing games on vacation rather than inter-dimensionally traveling to one.
