Jul 8th 2010 5:56AM I think the tree lock in is there to stop people picking a tree at lvl 10 to get the passive bonuses and then sticking all their other points in another tree, to stop crit immune fury warriors at lvl 20 and that kind of thing. Whether that's a good or bad thing remains to be seen.
Overall though I'm very positive on the changes.
Jul 8th 2010 5:30AM My only real concern is levelling as a tank or a healer. If people want to mix soloing and the dungeon finder they'll be more likely to go for a dps spec for soloing purposes since grinding with all your points in the healing trees could be painful. That could result in fewer people in tank and healing specs available for the dungeon finder and limit the number of available groups below 70.
Jul 2nd 2010 8:20AM I've now had 6 weeks of ICC 10 and 25 man without a single plate, weapon or shield tanking drop to roll on.
Oct 27th 2009 8:55AM I'd recommend a quick overview tutorial that can be looked through prior to first time chacracter creation, explaining about the world you are about to enter and a bit about class roles so that new players don't choose a class that they end up wishing they hadn't started with.
Jul 3rd 2009 5:17AM To relieve a lot of wrist probs I can also recommend binding HS and Shield slam to the side buttons of a 5 button mouse or a mouse wheel up and down scroll movement. Can save yourself a lof of effort with those.
Aug 20th 2008 4:40AM Am I right in thinking there are addons out there which will select a downranked heal spell level based on the amount of health lost on a target to prevent overhealing?
Sure I've seen it done and I think that would definitely be something that should be prevented, no skill involved in that.
If I've just made it up feel feee to ignore me.
Jul 23rd 2008 8:28AM Sword and board looks like a winner to me, I'm much more excited about that than shockwave which is the higher skill for prot tree on warriors.
It's very early to tell but the change of shield slam to a trainable skill and alterations to the use of shield block will hopefully make playing as a prot warrior a very different experience.
Vigilance looks interesting for none level cap situations. Would like to see how it would work out in a two tank situation with the extra taunts as opposed to threat generation if you are overgeared and having trouble keeping rage up.
On other classes penance, the 51 point Discipline talent for priests, looks pretty handy. Might move a few builds in that direction.
Jul 21st 2008 3:38AM They had better make Armoursmith worth having this time round or I'm gonna go on a childish forum rage fest.
It's currently the most disappointing profession specialisation in the game, every prot warrior that wants to craft armour gets stuck with the ability to make DPS plate gear and has yet another reason not to tank.
I think they do have a chance to do it properly as well with the combination of items with bonuses dependant on having high blacksmithing and also armoursmith.
