Feb 24th 2012 7:04AM I like that idea, but remember, most if not all of the events on the olympic program have yearly, bi-yearly or quad-yearly events.
Football got World Cup, European Cup, African Nations Cup aswell as Asian, North/South-american versions of those, to fill in the gaps between each olympic games.
Same goes for handball. Athletics got the golden leages etc. Sailing got the varrying regatas and such. the list goes on...
But if we implement this to each Expansion being the Olympic Games.
Football could be the releases of minor/major raids.
Sailing are new 5man instances.
Athletics could be phasing to current zones, possibly building up to the next big thing (excitement about olympic games)
Rowing are mini-games introduced for those that enjoy that etc.
So every 4th year theres a huge event for all the activities in-game, and the years in between they evolve along their own timeline.
Apr 8th 2010 4:40AM Interesting, the way I understood the change in scaling with heath was actually the other way round.
As dps gears up content becomes easier, they do more damage and instances are cleared faster.
To better make the tanks able to keep up with a dps going from 3k to 6k damage, it was my understanding of this rage generation mechanic that a 30k tank would generate 10 rage and a 60k tank would get 20 (random numbers) thus allowing him to use more abilities etc, in order to keep up with the better geared dps.
Which in my oppinion makes more sence, as it will mean tanks outgearing instances have an easier time, not a harder one. As it should be.

Otherwise we would still see scenarios with good geared dps speeding away from good geared tanks in lower level dungeons.
This way with rage scaling with the tanks increased healthpool they will be better equiped to keep up with threat.

And I am sure you will see their population skyrocket, probably not as high as human counterparts though.
But it kinda surprised me to have you roll the eastetic (spelling?) card and not even mentioning racials other than the dorf priest from vanilla... when humans probably have the most most usefull racials in the game. (trying to say they have more than one usefull racial, not necessary THE most usefull)
I know us "hardcore" raiders are a fractional percentage of the wow player base, but I still think alot of people have rolled humans for their racials alone. The convienency of 10% extra rep is probably a huge factor?

Of course plenty of these items have other stats than can be more or less desirable.
So the way I see this, yes, it can be a slight nerf to our dps from live to ptr. But it's a change in the ways they want warriors to itemize and I am sure if you were to look up some of the new drops available we will see more +str items popping up in the future.
