Reader UI of the Week: Peripherals take center stage with Steppinrazor's UI {WoW}

Jul 12th 2011 2:37PM I don't know about anyone else, but using the nt52 I use the D-Pad for thumb movement, forward/backward, strafe left/right. It's very very familiar if you've ever used a controller for a console, and allows easy 1-1 button mapping for actions. I only have a Razer Deathadder, so I have the extra buttons there mapped to ctrl/alt.

The Queue: Kettlebells and personal hells {WoW}

Jun 9th 2011 11:06AM Vash'jir had a decent quantity of Horde vs Alliance, the biggest portion of why Alliance is there is to prevent the Horde from establishing a beachhead. Several missions have you recovering, aiding, etc your faction specifically, fighting off some opposing horde who get too close, etc. It wasn't quite center stage, owing mostly to how serious a problem the Naga are, but it's definitely in there, unlike Hyjal & Uldum. It's somewhat present in Deepholme in the pursuit of one of the World Pillar fragments

12 Days of Joyswag: Xbox 360 S plus 'Games for the Holidays,' A World of Keflings, Raskulls, and ilomilo {Joystiq}

Dec 26th 2010 5:20PM I got an XBox 360 S 350 gig bundle with Alan Wake and Forza 3. Unfortunately, I already own Alan Wake, and don't play racing games.

12 Days of Joyswag: Halo: Reach hair clippers, briefcase, book ... oh, and game {Joystiq}

Dec 22nd 2010 6:17AM Playing Halo: Combat Evolved in college with my roommates with "agreed upon" rules but not custom settings. Hilarity ensued.

12 Days of Joyswag: Fable 3 rucksack with Collector's Edition, book, and controller {Joystiq}

Dec 21st 2010 3:14PM The worst bug I can recall was during the World of Warcraft Cataclysm beta doing the "The Bears Up There" quest. The player would climb a "vehicle" ladder into the tree, scoop up a bear cub, climb to the top and be unable to move from the very top of the tree without relogging. The quest gated the entire rest of the zone (something like 70-80% of the remainder of Mount Hyjal) and prevented further testing there for over two weeks.

12 Days of Joyswag: StarCraft 2 Collector's Edition, t-shirt, Razer Abyssus mouse and Vespula mousepad {Joystiq}

Dec 20th 2010 8:29AM I think it'll probably be 2013 until the next Starcraft installment is out.

Conan game being conceived by Paradox and DDM {Joystiq}

I still haven't beaten it because of that boss battle. It's ridiculous, the entire game is like "Learn Combos, Use Them!" Boss Battles are "Fast Hit Twice, Dodge Repeatedly!"

12 Days of Joyswag: Mass Effect 2 tin, with games, books, and a print! {Joystiq}

Dec 16th 2010 5:43PM John Shepard.

Most common first name for those of European descent!

12 Days of Joyswag: Enslaved Collector's Edition resin statue and game {Joystiq}

Dec 14th 2010 7:00PM I didn't pick up Enslaved because (sadly enough) I was playing too much World of Warcraft. Ironically, with the best expansion yet now out, that's no longer a problem.

Champions Online goes free to play next year {Joystiq}

Oct 26th 2010 5:15PM I'm surprised that people mourn how a game as unfun to play as Champions Online goes free to play. I had subscribed for it's first three months, in addition to spending almost as long in Beta and the game was a total mess. Bugs and balance issues that dwarfed any of the issues CoH had at release. (and in case you wondered why I played so long if i hated it, I was giving it a solid chance).

City of Heroes is miles better, even without being able to move and attack at the same time (which I might add looks stupid as hell in game, and causes everyone in PvP to constantly be running in a circle).
