Feb 4th 2009 7:23PM If legendaries were scaled to level, then what would seperate a heirloom from a legendary other than that legendaries have a historic past? What makes a legendary well...legendary is the immense power that comes with the item. Something like a previous post said, if we wanted frostmourne, lorewise, it could lose power when the lich king loses it. therefore, its not as powerful but still gets to be wielded. (another cool thing for frostmourne would be that on use, it transfoms the wielder into the lich king for x seconds and generates x hate from all nearby mobs within a x radius, would be great for tanks to generate boss aggro), and then for ashbringer, (i believe arthas wielded it) arthas does something lore wise thats gutsy and weakens the sword. (on use: transforms the wielder into arthas, causing all nearby humanoids, beasts, undead and critters to run away in fear for x seconds or until recieving damage.) who doesnt want to transform into some crazy awesome lore god and scare the crap out of your least favorite mobs. i smell murloc fearing as the new fad?
Feb 4th 2009 7:52AM well i hope there will be a patch to fix that, if not, raids will basically require a hunter to be survival just to do damage. and then MM and BM are SOL. What i would do, is respec to survival, play it until the patch comes to fix that nerf, and then when that comes, go right back to MM. you can always tinker around with pets for a while to pass the time. It's always fun to figure out which pet works best for you, (droning on and now i sound like a lvl 23 hunter giving advice how to play one)
Feb 3rd 2009 7:36PM from my encounters, 2 hand pallys tanking can get off more dmg due to the higher dmg of the weapon (duh), but cannot block, for they have no shield (duh, again). If the pally is well geared and can take several high damage hits consecutively, then going with 2 hand weapons is just fine. but if you really need to block those incoming hits due to 'wardrobe malfunctions" (lol) then a shield and 1 hand weapon is really what you need, and youll just have to leave the actual killing of mobs to the dps (which should be no problem as thats the dps's job anyway)
Feb 3rd 2009 7:32PM Soloing some content can be done by higher lvl arcane mages, but not much imo. (i play a arcane mage.) We are just way to squishy to survive any substantial damage that would come our way by soloing. Tanks and other melee classes have it much easier with soloing content because they can take a hit better than we can. But be happy knowing you can wipe a mob out before it gets to you, unlike melee :)
Jan 28th 2009 9:20AM wow a 3 day ban for a exploit? personally, i dont think exploits are wrong, or right. but a 3 day ban for using one was a little harsh. i mean if blizz didnt want the exploit, and they were aware of it, why didnt they fix it? did they keep the exploit available to use while banning everyone for 3 days who use the exploit so they can continue to make money and not have to deal with people? did blizz just go trigger happy with the ban button or did they think that by keeping up the exploit, they could uncover the true raiders vs the fake raiders? i smell a conspiracy. and personally, i think exploiting a bug should be an achievement, call it "your a cheater. yay!"
Jan 25th 2009 1:06PM heres my suggestions (some are just speculation since they cannot be performed yet) for pvp realms that have a huge difference in horde:alliance ratio: ( pretend a sever has more alliance than horde)
1) only allow horde chars to be made on that realm until the ratio
2) make free horde transfers to that realm from other realms.
3) see if blizz will possibly make horde NPC's stronger.
4) make that realm temperarilly ( spelled wrong) PVE.
and if you want to choose a pvp realm, i would say choose a pvp realm with a medium population density, and if you choose pve, choose a pve realm with a high population density.
Jan 25th 2009 9:56AM WHAT? lock summoning isnt working? (havent played my 78 lock since 3.0.8 launched) and here are my rules to post patch launch week:
1) dont play wow until 2 weeks after patch launch
2) while not playing, google all the new things that the patch
has to offer. (after being fixed of all the bugs)
3) if you must play, lvl a alt or grind profession
4) if you absolutely have to, play your main during post
patch launch, but prepare yourself for lagcity and everything
5) (what im doing) research a guild to join (not in one atm)
Jan 24th 2009 9:52PM and this is where you bring in your guilds heal trees for some kick ass HoT. Our 10-man took him down with the following: (keep in mind all are decently geared) 1 warrior MT, 1 pally offtank , 2 tree druid HEALERS, 2 mages DPS, 1 shaman HEALER/DPS, 1 demon lock DPS, 1 frost DK DPS, 1 beast hunter DPS/pet help tank
Jan 20th 2009 7:45PM or.... we can all just say screw boomkins and go resto :) WoW already has enough DPS....most servers need more heals. so i say all druids respec to resto!!! i just wish Healtrees could use entangling roots in tree form. :(
