May 11th 2009 8:26PM @Karilyn:
I'm aware there's other influences there, but the fact remains when even someone who's played D&D and other fantasy games for years looks at LFGit reeks of WoW knockoff. I played D&D and other online fantasy games for far longer than I've played WoW (4 years for WoW, nearly 15 for non-WoW) and it's still the first thing that popped into my head. But given the intro is an undead warlock talking to a pale skinned elf about how the pale-skinned elf's race is evil as a general rule, the parallels are kinda clear.
Hell, I thought Sohmer (the writer) posted a blog entry that said something to the effect of "Yes this is influenced by WoW, but it has its own world, its own history, etc". I could be wrong on that one, though.
May 11th 2009 7:12PM I'm curious to see if Looking For Group gets hit. the guys behind that not only make the comic, they make money off merchandise for the comic, and it's pretty clearly a WoW knockoff.

Jan 7th 2009 2:15PM When grinding: I don't care.
When DPSing instances: don't care.
Raiding: anything with a driving beat or a military sound (e.g. Prelude to War, Storming New Caprcia from BSG).
When tanking: terrible pop music that makes me yearn for the sweet embrace of death.
Jan 2nd 2009 9:32AM My rogue's my main. When I'm playing him, I'll quit if the tank or healer isn't up to snuff. For a tank that means not insta-gibbing on pulls and at least keeping enough threat that I don't have to seriously dial back my DPS (if I can't use cooldowns or trinkets on boss fights, the tank's doing it wrong). For a healer that means keeping us alive.
When I'm tanking on my paladin I'll quit if the DPS is being stupid or the healer's asleep at the wheel. I'm especially unforgiving of idiot rogues. But I'm reaching the point where I'll quit if someone says a boss like Ikiss or Thaddius is a tank and spank.
Dec 2nd 2008 3:36PM It's a good thing my boss is in a meeting, because I just burst out laughing. Well done, sir.
Aug 18th 2008 5:15PM Main: If someone asks who I play, this is the name or class I give out. My main is a rogue.
Alt: Anything else that I play, whether it's my soonn to be 70 tankadin or my 21 shaman.
Jul 29th 2008 9:43AM Something about this just doesn't track. Why would they make alchemy a profession you can only use once per fight? You don't have that restriction with engineering or the consumable JC items as far as I know.
I suspect there's more to this.
