Jul 21st 2009 4:15PM I don't want to sound like a conspiracy nut, but this looks like a cover-up. There seems to be a pretty big skip in quality from the original pair to the new masks for race/genders that don't appear in game. I hope I'm wrong, since I really want to see naga playable next expansion, but it looks like Blizz threw this new batch out to mess with us.
Jul 14th 2009 12:06PM I've played Alliance since release. I can't muster the resolve to stick with a Horde character beyond level 30 or so.
I would leave all that behind for the opportunity to play a naga mage or warlock.
There are just so many neat things that can be done with them. A naga city would be gorgeous, a combination of haughty ancient elven architectural and organic sea-life. The race has more history and back story than half the current player races. And they just look so neat and bizarre.
If the next expansion is Maelstrom centered, as popular speculation holds, then it's very likely Azshara and the naga will be major villains, and that increases the likelihood that we'll see a splinter group of naga realize just how insane their queen is and throw their lot behind a more viable faction, the Horde or Alliance.
May 11th 2009 12:36AM There's a quest in Bloodmyst where you are sent to find out what happened to a survey team that was sent to examine some naga ruins on the coast. When you get there, they're all dead. What makes this a reference is the fact that all of the dead landing team were wearing red shirts.
Apr 25th 2009 8:12PM I was kind of hoping you'd touch on the subject of crit vs. haste.
I've been gradually gathering PvP gear through a frost spec, but now that I'm ready to earnestly go into arenas I've begun to read some interesting theories on the value of haste.
Is it wise to prioritize haste over crit for PvP? Should I phase out my Deadly robe and belt for the new WG ones (which are identical, save for replacing the +crit with +haste)? And how much hit is generally enough for PvP, keeping in mind the slew of talents that slightly reduce the change to be hit by spells that have popped up in most tress?
Feb 11th 2009 2:25PM It'd be wonderful to have a physical representation of how much better the draenei are than those filthy, filthy blood elves.
On a side note, the picture it's based on was the first ever confirmation of the mysterious new Alliance race for the Burning Crusade. I remember it got leaked out a day or two before E3.
Dec 22nd 2008 12:01PM I've found that the repeatable bg-mark turn in quest still exists, and awards a very nice bit of honor. However, it only uses eye of the storm, warsong gulch, arathi basin, and strand of the ancient marks.
I honestly can't find a single use for AV marks anymore. Have they grown completely obsolete? No gear seems to require them, and they can't be turned in for extra honor.
Dec 13th 2008 12:52AM I'd rather be rolling in something that has use. I've never been in tailoring for making money, I've only been reluctant to drop it because of all the money I've sunk in it over the last year and a half.
It seems the crafted stuff is easily replaced and the three things unique to tailors boil down to a cheaper (read; not unique) pant enchants, a poorly implemented mount, and a cloak enchant that's slightly better than the enchanting alternative.
Jewelcrafting is looking rather sweet just now.
Dec 12th 2008 7:52PM I'm rather disappointed with tailoring. Right now I'm in full frostsavage gear (mage), and while it's nice, it's going to become obsolete within a week or two of season 5. Since I mainly focus on PvP, nothing further down really looks promising. Indeed, the only thing that keeps me from dropping the profession right now is a vague worry that something good will be added later, and I'll have wasted the immense amount of gold I've invested in it.
At the bottom line, it seems that it's filler gear for level 80 stuff. I'm giving serious thought to dropping it.
Dec 7th 2008 8:45PM Actually, the picture here is an artistic embellishment on the old PvP armor. Nothing in game ever looks as good as the artistic depiction, but if you want it you should still be able to pick it up at the honor vendors in Stormwind. With the inflation in honor values over the last two expansions, you should be able to pick it up easily.
Oct 17th 2008 9:10AM I've been debating whether or not to pick up inscription. Basically, the choice hinges on the unique, crafter-specific benefits it brings. I know that the extra glyph slot idea was scrapped some time ago in beta, but what's left? Special BoP glyphs? Shoulder enchants?
