Gawker hack prompts Blizzard to issue password reset {WoW}

Dec 15th 2010 12:15AM This issue has been handled poorly by all involved, Gawker, Blizzard and Wow Insider. Your first post on the issue seems like the kind of thing it's important to check on before you add to the confusion. Does Wow Insider really not have a press contact at Blizzard whom they can call to verify facts?

Poll: Did you pre-order an iPhone 4? {TUAW.com}

Jun 18th 2010 4:02PM I tried all day long. Started trying in the morning and all throughout the day. Finally got the site to work at around 6:15EST. I'm thinking I got in because it was during the time most people are commuting home from work.

Cataclysm raid progression refinements {WoW}

Apr 26th 2010 11:53AM It was already too hard to get into raids. This change will reduce the number of possible raids a week in HALF, which mean it's going to be twice as hard to get into a raid.

I thought Blizzard wanted to make end game content more accessible? This is a big step in the opposite direction.

Apr 14th 2010 11:23AM I macro Cloak of Shadows with Vanish, on the hope that is helps fix the incoming damage problem. Any one know if my macro is actually doing anything?

The Queue: In which Adam will surely get some QQ for his answer {WoW}

Apr 5th 2010 12:10PM And if your answer is no, then you're probably out of luck, because Blizzard doesn't think a game where players are able to instantly destroy other players is very fun. I tend to agree with them.

I agree with you, but.... I feel bad for those players who will never get to successfully twink now (because twinking on my battlegroup is completely dead), even for a little while. Ganking a BG full of other players was a lot of fun for the ganker.

Being a twink rogue and one shotting every cloth, and easily destroying everything else WAS fun. It was also a lot of fun when you ran up against that one other twink who could consistently give you a run for your money. There was a bubbling paladin and a rapidly shifting and jumping druid that I fought over and over (usually losing). It became an actually test of skill, which most of the time BG completely lack.

It's not something I did for long, and at some point is isn't fair, and gets old. I'm however a little nostalgic about it actually. BGs are often painfully horrible for 4 levels, and most of the *9 level, until you finally finish the twink's gear and get in a rhythm. Twinking made losing over and over again more bearable, knowing that soon, with gear and practice you'll get your revenge.

Removing Twinking might in the long run be for the better, but doing so certainly removed a fun part of the game, and because they still aren't balanced, one of the few fun parts of BGs.

Mar 5th 2010 12:00PM My guess for loremaster is that they are going to change the old world achievements into metas and break down the quests into zones, just like for outland and northend.

Maintenance extended [Updatedx6] {WoW}

Feb 9th 2010 3:34PM This is especially inconvenient today because like much of the MidAtlantic, I'm on my third snow day in a week. If I don't have to work, and can't get around the city AND can't play wow... a sad day indeed.

Steve Jobs, the moral high ground, and the return to Apple {TUAW.com}

Nov 9th 2009 10:15AM This "More importantly, the company was his company. He didn't have to buy it! " has always reminded by of what Paul McCartney has said about not wanting to buy back the right to the Beatles catalog. The two apples really do have a lot in common.
