Mar 5th 2012 3:30PM I haven't been playing as long as Vanilla but Anne's first few paragraphs seem to confirm what I have been suspecting for a while - that PVP was an afterthought to the initial game design.
I struggle to accept this since the RTS game had a strong PVP component to it.
Feb 16th 2012 3:55PM First, thank you for the post, Mr. Rossi.
I’m a few months behind on the WoW Insider podcasts but it sounds like this is a topic that still resonates with him.
A few close friends and I do reminisce about the time when we could spec and gear a toon into an unusual ‘role’.
We had a tanking mage and melee hunters among us.
They were obviously not min/maxed toons in a classic sense but they were min/maxed within the confines of the class.
More importantly they were how we wanted to play and we had fun with them.
With the increased ‘homogenization’, it seems that WoW is heading in the opposite direction than what Mr. Rossi would like.
It also seems that this topic of ‘roles’, ‘choices’, and ‘homogenization’ has been coming up a lot lately by insiders.
Do you think this is a central topic of discussion in the development of Titan and that it will move opposite of WoW by having an abundance of choices/customization?
