Scattered Shots: What we didn't get {WoW}
Oct 10th 2008 4:11AM "I saw a post a few days ago where either she or Koraa wonders if they should try a system where pets do much less DPS, but are very durable."
I will be absolutely FURIOUS if they do this. That is not a buff, that is a waste of time, and yet, that seems to be Blizzard's philosophy for hunters in WotLK. They will only give us something[pet survivability] if they take something[pet DPS] away. That doesn't help us at all, that leaves us back at the beginning with a NEW problem. What do I care if my pet is alive if it can't even scratch my enemy?
The fact that they won't just buff our pets while warlocks have pets that are harder to kill in an arena than a heroic boss is utterly frustrating. And God forbid you kill a warlock's pet, half a tick later he just instantly respawned one. I wouldn't be so obviously peeved if it wasn't for that fact that one of the main draws of a hunter for me was the ability to control a death-dealing beast. Instead I have a baby rabbit on a leash that breaks my traps and sniffs my opponent's feet.
For anyone who's interested in playing WoW or trying a new class and wants to see what it's like to control pets do yourself a favor and play a warlock.
Who's pets has more versatility? Warlocks. (Silence, seduce, stam buffs, off-tanking, dps.)
Who can summon any of his pets at any time or any place on command? Warlocks. (Have fun running back to town hunters.)
And just to boot, who can spend all his time running around and still not miss a beat in DPS? Warlocks.
But hey, at least hunters' pets can almost compare if your dedicated enough to spend 31+ talent points as a beast mastery spec and then cry over their dead bodies time and time again like some endless rerun of Bambi or the Lion King.
