Why Varian Wrynn is a fool, part II {WoW}

May 27th 2009 2:16PM I find it interesting that Varion makes such a big deal about being a slave gladiator, when if you follow the the comic story, he was a gladiator for little over a month and only fought in one tournament. thrall was a gladiator for the majority of his early life.

also, in the "varion is right" article, it claimed that thrall was the only true 'slave' gladiator in the alliance. In the book detailing thralls rise to power, there are not just human gladiators, there are also troll and ogre gladiators. I doubt seriously that all these ogres and trolls were free and fighting for pay from their alliance masters.

thrall is also not the only slave gladiator orc to fight for human masters. rehgar earthfury was a slave gladiator for the human lord agrovane.

Massively and GamerDNA chart the MMO market in 2008 {WoW}

Dec 30th 2008 2:11PM I doubt WoW will decline anytime soon. And the not-as explosive growth makes a lot of sense if you think about it. Yes theres all this awesome new content, but to experience it you need to be either 68, or have a 55 char to create a DK.
If your hearing your friends play about all the new stuff in northrend and you want to try wow out, you've got quite a hike to even touch new stuff, and a lot of the old content is kinda stale compared to the new stuff.
thats one of the things BC did right, with the addition of two shiny new races with 2 new zones each, it probably brought in a lot more new players (I know quite a few people who didnt start playing till BC). thats one of blizzards few shortcomings, IMO is their disregard for their old content.

New Death Knight starting screen and skeletal gryphon mount {WoW}

Jul 29th 2008 9:52AM on a completly nit-picky note, the griffons beak would not be yellow. the yellow color in beaks comes from the keratin sheath that covers a birds beak. /end bio-nerd

other wise thats a god awful mount that needs to be covered in sinew and rotting feathers, with frost drifting off of it, not this looney toons skeleton.
