Breakfast Topic: Fear is the mind-killer {WoW}

Mar 16th 2010 1:55PM The entire dungeon in its entirety.. lol. My apologies. You should have the run the dungeon in it's entirety.***

Breakfast Topic: Fear is the mind-killer {WoW}

Mar 16th 2010 1:51PM I used to fear, both, H HoR and Occulus. I had never ran Occulus before, until the new Dungeon Finder system was implemented. And, even then, I made sure to run it on regular mode at least three times, before running it on Heroic. And, not because I wasn't geared enough to run the Heroic version from the get-go; but, I had heard so many people say that they hated the instance and that made me very fearful. But, after running it for the first time, I realized that a lot of the complaints were coming from the fact that the instance takes just a wee bit longer than many of the others. It's actually one of my favorites, now. Also, at the time, I didn't even realize that they had added the drake drop for the random. So, that's just an added bonus.

H HoR is another story. At first, it was just the fear of knowing that it was one of the hardest dungeons (in comparison to the older ones) and that pugs can be unpredictable. But, now, I don't fear H HoR, either. It's a lot like Occulus. I learned from my first time in, how to handle the first two encounters and the waves of mobs that come before. And, so far, I've been really fortunate with groups. Sometimes it's a slow fight, depending on the gear, but I honestly don't mind that sort of thing. I like helping people out who are truly gearing up, rather than just grabbing their frost badges.

The one instance that I honestly don't enjoy at all, really, is Forge of Souls. I love love LOVE the last boss. But, I despise Bronjahm. It's not that he's difficult or anything, but that his little swirly thing at the end just kills my fps. It is the most laggy battle for me, of any dungeon. And, I hate it. That's no one's fault, of course, but my own. My comp needs upgrades, simple as that. But, that makes me really hate that instance.

Just as a side note: I'd love to see something new implemented, to where every time you helped someone in the group gain an achievement, you got 1 extra frost badge or 2 extra triumphs. That way, people would be more inclined to really help other players out. There are so many times that I enter an instance and hear someone kindly ask if we could all chip in on trying for a specific achievement and I'm always up for that sort of thing. But, there's almost always that one player that's in a rush and just there for their frost badges; they don't have time for niceties or any sort of camaraderie.

Also, I really think that the frost badges should be changed so that you only gain them if you complete the entire dungeon. No skipping bosses. There are people in the group who may really be looking forward to those two extra badges that you skip, or whatever. Not the mention, they might just be there for the fun of the run. It's great that you've got no need for triumphs, anymore. And, that you're just in it for a quickie and two frost badges. But, maybe you shouldn't join a group, then, unless you have adequate time to do so.

The Frost badges are something to be grateful about. Whether you're a hardcore raider who's just in it for how they can supplement your already growing collection of Frosts or you're a newer player who needs those Frost, because you can't raid. Either way, you should be grateful for them and earn them. You should have to run the entire dungeon in its entirety.

Maintenance day loot from {WoW}

Mar 16th 2010 1:18PM Yay! Thanks for the chance. :D

The Daily Blues {WoW}

Mar 11th 2010 4:54AM I agree. I think he's just seems like a really decent guy and he's a wonderful asset to the players. There are so many people who will say otherwise, but I think the players are very lucky to have someone in his position, who is willing to constantly interact with us. He wants to be involved and he wants us to feel involved, in return. I'm grateful for his attempts to keep all of us informed about this game we love so much.

Mastery System Preview {WoW}

Mar 8th 2010 10:58PM I completely agree; I think Mastery sounds incredible, so far! I like that they're looking at talent trees from a new perspective. And, I'm all for weeding out those talents that are boring to have, but feel necessary to put points in.

"Piercing Ice, however, is just "6% more damage" and is the kind of talent we're trying to eliminate by implementing the Mastery system. " -- Love this! I hate these sort of talents, to be honest. They're necessary, but have never sat right with me.

"The second bonus will be related to a stat commonly found on gear desirable to you, such as Haste or Crit." -- I like this very much, too. Very nice.

I can't wait to see what's in store for Afflic 'Locks! :D

This is definitely not the first time I've felt this way and I'm sure that it won't be the last; but, I'm honestly really impressed with Blizzard, at this moment. With as huge and popular as WoW has become, they could have easily sat back and rested on their laurels. They could've put out a few bug-fix patches, now and again, taking their players for granted. Instead, this game has just gotten better and more polished as time has passed.

I think polished is the best word for it, too. From simple things, like the pet/mount tabs and the drop down title menu, to larger and more complicated things, like talent trees. They're still constantly working to make this game even better than it was the day before and that's impressive. I really appreciate that sort of dedication and devotion to the game and the players.

Cataclysm has me so stoked! This will be the first expansion that I am going to make absolutely sure I get a Collector's Edition. It's not that I didn't want CEs of the others. But, I started playing after BC and just didn't have the extra cash for a CE of WotLK. But, I'm going to start saving up right now for my Collector's Edition of Cataclysm, so that there is no chance that I won't get one. I wonder what the special pet will be this time around. A mini Deathwing, perhaps? :3

Patch 3.3.3 PTR: Build 11643 notes {WoW}

Mar 8th 2010 7:16PM I'm really happy with this Dark Pact change! And, that Lil' XT looks adorable. I really hope that I'll be able to get one.

And, being an die-heard Engineer, I MUST get that rocket mount. But, if it is 310%, I fear that it won't be easily obtainable. :(

I would love it if that rocket mount was crafted by Engineers. I don't want it to be engineer only to ride it. But, I just don't want it to be some super rare raid drop. I can't raid and I'm already bummed that I will practically never have a chance at Mimi's Head. Well, maybe someday. Although, I just wish that Engineers could craft things that were as epic as Mimiron's Head. Not that I don't LOVE my 'copter mounts. And, I'm very grateful for the choppa. However, I'd have been far more happy if it didn't cost a fortune to make, even for Engineers. But, the designers are definitely capable of awesome Engi looking style mounts, like Mimiron's Head, the 'copters, and now this rocket. I hope that in the future we'll have more mount schematics.

The Daily Blues {WoW}

Mar 5th 2010 11:48PM I, actually, quite like GC. I think that most people who take issue with him have either had their ego bruised, when he openly and intelligently disagrees with them, or when he simply doesn't play into their immaturity.

This is not a Starbucks; the customer is not always right. I have never been treated negatively by a Blue, before. But, I've also never spout immature drivel all over the forums or whined and berated the devs and designers, because I'm unhappy with how they're running their game. Yes, I pay to play WoW. And, that being said, I hope that the people in charge take my feedback into mind, when making changes. And, I believe they do take all of our feedback into mind.

Anytime I've ever needed a GM in the game, I've received prompt and polite help. They've always been friendly and patient.

I think GC deals with good folks on the forums and the bottom of the barrel. When you've dealt with such low class people repeatedly, you eventually grow quick to ignore and shoot them down. I feel like he's simply reached the point, where he just won't put up with the crap, anymore. Just because you pay $15 a month to play the game, does not give you the right to berate someone. And, I have read through too many threads where people have attempted to just eviscerate GC, at every turn. This is ridiculous. He makes a huge effort to give the players insight and information. But, too many people take that fact for granted, and instead use his efforts to vilify him and make him the target of their anger, with their frustrations toward the game. I'm no GC fangirl, but the forums are just such an awful place, filled with too many loud and crude people. I can very rarely stand to read through many threads.

To be honest, I sort of fancy Zarhym. His politeness and rhetoric make me swoon. :3

WRUP: We wish we were playing... {WoW}

Mar 5th 2010 9:47PM Oh man, Adam; I love Dune. Frank Herbert for the win! :D
