Jun 29th 2009 8:32PM I don't think you're seeing the whole picture. The Chinese Government is not going to cut off a source of income, but rather redirect the efforts and make it a Government controlled enterprise. The Chinese see the money in it and they're wanting it for themselves. The current gold farmers may just be relocated to a government approved facility and continue this scam. You're looking at this from a "feel good" point of view and not a "controlling government" point of view. Mark my words, in a few months, we'll see a post or news blerb saying how China has government run farming programs and they're not talking about produce.
Jun 29th 2009 6:26PM I've been using the !WoW Insider addon for a while now. I really like it. I've noticed that it is sending a lot of information in that I havn't seen as part of my character info I have access to. What are they doing with all the other data I can't see?
Jun 18th 2009 8:41AM I get board easy playing the same thing all the time. I can also become bothered when I'm in this kind of mood by guild members needing help or something while I'm on being board not sure what I want to do and yet not wanting to do anything. Then I can get to the point of just not wanting to log in at all. I've used two different tactics to defeat this kind of burnout.
1) I've made alts on a different server. I play horde so on the other server, I've made Alliance. I play male mostly, so all my alts on the other server are female. No one knows me there and I don't join in with guilds or even accept party invites. I just do my quests or work on my trade skills. Don't be afraid to delete any of these characters. It's an awsome feeling to take a level 40 or even a level 57 DK ( Just finishing the training ) and just cashout all their goods, transfer their gold to a different alt and delete them. It's quite a nice change and it helps get my head cleared.
2) I have real life hobbies outside of WoW. I like to do arts and crafts. Right now I'm taking up a quilting class. It's a single project so I am not in a long term commitment and I can work on it while I'm in a burnout funk. In the past, I've taken a candle making class and I've even done a ceramic party with my friends. I've treated myself to a day at a spa ( It was a bit expensive but I had a gift card, so it cut the price in half ). Over all, it was a very relaxing experience.
Everyone is going to have an idea or two and I hope these will help add to your choices. They are great for me.
Jun 8th 2009 4:45PM I read about the scam the other day on the mounts from blood elves. I'm not one to trust links in e-mails so I won't fall for that. What caught my attention is the keylogger comment. When I download addons from Curse or or Interface, am I trusting it too much thinking that they have been checked to make sure nothing harmful is there?
Jun 4th 2009 4:51PM I'm really limited to game play time. I am enjoying leveling both Druid and Warlock. I've taken a DK to 80 and now want to do the same for my Druid. I have dual spec now on the Druid Feral/Resto and at level 65 I'm getting more requests for instances than I have time for. I just hope I don't get a bad rep for blowing people off ( In a nice way ) do to lack of play time.

"The fact is builds pretty much play the same way as long as you are picking up key talents. I don't see why someone would drag their feet and not take something that was a bigger DPS upgrade over another talent. I mean, you are going to be doing the same rotation, the same attacks, the same everything."
Not always is this the case. I like taking Unholy Blight and Desecration and Bone Shield. Some people think they're a wase of talant points. I find them very useful for my playstyle. I also like Unholy vs. Blood. The playstyle of Blood is not the same for me. You would not believe how many people want to give me their advice on how much better the blood build is. I've played both and like Unholy better. I totally don't understand why people think one build is better than another? If that's the case, then Blizz should just me it that when you level, you are automatically given the power in line and forget about giving people choices. Then they should program it so your rotation in an attack is preprogrammed too so all you have to do it hit "T" and the cycle begins. Doesn't that sound like it would be a fun game then???
May 8th 2009 11:41AM This statement is wrong to begin with. I don't buy into your premise that taking one talent over another is going to ruin everyone's fun. It's just not possible. So someone is hitting for 1850 instead of 1900 isn't going to cause a major wipe. I've ran a few instances now and it's more along the lines of finding out what each boss does with it's attacks. When to run and when to attack. Where to stand to avoid dots laid out on the ground and when to run into a portal to avoid total distruction. People are so hung up on "The Maxed Spec" they don't think about how someone is playing in the spec they took. So it takes the team an extra 40 seconds to take down the boss or you have to wait a few extra seconds between mobs because the healer isn't fully up on his mana. So you have to try to change tactics because the tank lost aggro for a few seconds. It's all part of the game my friend. You adjust and adapt at every turn. Seriously, ask yourself this: do you want to play with a player who knows his/her stuff but isn't running with the exact build you think they should be or playing with someone who's build is the perfect build and can't follow simple directions or starts aggro before everyone is ready? With 11.5 million subscribers online, the 4/9/24 that have problems with me can easily find someone else if they wish. I don't need to play with such anal players. They would "Harsh my Mellow".
May 7th 2009 6:26PM I'm with you on this one. I don't raid as a rule. I enjoy leveling characters to 80 and working on the professions and some of the achivments. I get asked if I want to join a raid once in a while and since dual spec is out, it makes it easier to move from one build to the other, but I make it clear I'm spec'ed the way I play best. I'm not going to make changes because they heard somewhere that taking one point from X and putting it in Y will make things better or that playing Unholy isn't as good as playing Blood. Sorry, when you get me you get Unholy or Frost. It's what I like. It's what I play. Take me or leave me alone. I'll always have something better to do anyway. LOL!

I'm one of those people who avoid raiding just for the reason you brought up. I find some good groups some times and sometimes I don't. First thing I do is tell them I'll switch to either my Feral or my Heal (Druid) build. I run solo alot in Feral so I dual spec'ed into Resto. I don't buy into this "social contract" stuff and explain take me or don't. Some people play real hard and take the game too serious and others like me, just enjoy playing. I can delete a level 80 in full 8 teir with no thoughts. It puts some people into heart failer, I know, but it's just a game and I'm having fun playing with it. Some one or some gruop telling me I have to spec into a specific build, won't be worth my time running with. There are a lot more people out there that are looking at having fun and willing to run with you no matter what your build is. Trust me, I find them all the time.
