Dec 2nd 2008 1:16PM I suggest putting on skyguard cloak before doing wyrm one. enough said.
Dec 2nd 2008 1:14PM I really do hope one day they nerf druid flight form, it has forever been over powered, netherwing races comes to mind. everyone else gets knocked off they die, druid just goes back into flight form and continues on. Druids ninja'd more quest items than i can count in flight form while I was killing stuff in SMV.
Nov 25th 2008 11:43AM well most druid tanks i know were smart and pvped for tank gear. resilience was just as good of a way to get crit cap in BC plus the gear was stamina heavy so it served quite well in a tanking perspective, although a couple times i came across druids that were geming up gear in defense gems who had like 300+ resilience and I'd ask them what on earth they were doing. Often times it was forgoten that although mechanics of how resilience works is reverse of defense, the end goal is still the same.
Nov 25th 2008 11:30AM Quitely simply they should make defense only effect chance to be crit and no longer effect avoidance stats at all. They could then tune the gear in respect to provide the avoidance stats instead. and since gear is easier to tune to favor particular classes it would all work out. IE the druid tier 7 clearly isn't going to give block rating, but they could sure put some dodge on it. etc.
Of course I do have to complain that druids getting a talent that automatically makes them crit immune where a warrior has to waste so many useful gems and enchants for defense rating until they get better gear a bit imbalanced. I had to actually add sockets to 3 pieces just to get more defense gems in. Using nothing but defense enchants etc. just to become crit immune to start doing heroics or 10 man nax to get the more suitable upgrades. This sacrifices a ton of avoidance and stamina potential. Fortunately right now shield slam is still a bit OP on threat generation so threat gems/enchants were phased out. I'd like to see some more done to make the defense cap a little easier to get to at very least since it's so high now (over 600 def rating needed).
Nov 25th 2008 8:19AM I leveled warrior as prot and solowed every group quest in tier 6 quality gear all the way until storm peaks and ice crown where i actually had to start getting groups to do things. as well as the ring of blood type event in zul drak. Just like the prot paladin above said, i found it very easy to kill stuff wheni could just pull entire groups at a time and start blasting away with shockwave and thunder clap. Now that warrior is 80 he's pushing 1000dps solo and 1500dps in 5man setting. I have not taken him to a raid yet but I'm quite happy with the viability of prot builds since their damage doesn't suck anymore. Also helps a lot when those dungeons do come up.
Nov 20th 2008 6:42PM They got rid of uncrushable, you can still be crit, in fact if you even try to do a heroic at level 80 without being capped expect to get tore up.
Nov 20th 2008 6:40PM The Frost Resist set is actually trained by blacksmith trainers. Any blacksmith can craft an insane frost resist set for nax. So a resist was in mind at some point. Although with how much they have dumbed up raids so even idiots could clear then, I can see it being muscled through just as easily without a resist set much like hydros could be after they nerfed those raids.
Oct 26th 2008 8:41AM the event bugged on whisperwind and was uncompletable by anyone the entire day. :\ no attacks even took place from what i was told by many who sat around all day waiting for it. they showed on maps but you'd go to location and find nothing.
Sep 29th 2008 3:41PM everyone is uncrushable now. bosses will no longer crush.
Sep 29th 2008 10:58AM all the whiners are missing the big point blizzard is trying to do. I don't know how many times as a warrior I've been unable to go on raids or dungeons or do quests because I didn't posess AoE tanking. And I know if I do lead a group into magisters, having to tell druids they can't come cause their CC isn't good enough is pretty crappy too. It all goes down to blizzard saying, they want to balance the classes so they get to do everything like everyone else. that groups aer makeup of people because they are good, they are liked, not b ecause they fit a certain need that automatically outs many good players. I don't like being told I'm SOL because they want a paladin all the time.
As for paladins being at bottom now. I don't think so. Have you not followed the PTR? Spelldamage + pushback changes, what other tank can do a 5 man on normal and be the tank AND the healer? The blue posts even confirmed paladins tanks will actually be able to be viable self healers for the 5 man content. What other tank can heal themselves in a bad spot? i'm sure there are other strengths that can be pointed out. So I say everyone has their share of goodness. I'm just glad AE tanking isn't going to be the cause of many tanks being undesired now.
