Aug 20th 2008 11:09AM It depends on the profession. With my first character, I had skinning and enchanting and that worked out quite well. I made enough gold from skinning to get me to 60, and when it came time to buy my epic mount, I sold all of the mats I had DE'd since level 10 or whatever. That definitely paid off. However, I wouldn't learn Engineering, Tailoring, or Leatherworking before level 70. My brother found his Engineering to be useless once he reached level 40 -- it was far too expensive for him to continue leveling it. At 70, I switched to leatherworking and crafted my epics (Hunter, btw) and when wotlk comes out, I'm going to learn Engineering.
Aug 18th 2008 10:52AM I don't particularly like the new system, but I wouldn't revoke it just because it's not conducive to making the amount of gold you need to keep up. I'm mostly bitter because I'm leveling along with my boyfriend and his friend (they're using the RAF thing) and they are leaving me in the dust... D: I do agree that it takes away from some of the game experience and yes, it will prevent new players from gaining skills/knowledge to deal with "sticky situations."

Aug 11th 2008 4:51PM That comment was somewhat unclear...I meant to write that had my SO tried to coerce me into the game with cute things or whatever you all are trying, I would have been turned off completely. Also that I took the babying from my friends because I didn't want to play by myself, but I ended up leaving anyway after it became unbearably annoying.
Aug 11th 2008 4:47PM WoW was my first MMO, so I can't deny that I was incredibly clueless at the beginning. I took the babying from my male counterparts who introduced me to the game and resentfully accepted the gold and items they flung at me because they were under the impression that I needed constant attention and presents to maintain my interest in the game. >_< I've come to resent playing with my significant other as well. He had been playing longer than I (but I had been playing for a year before I met him) so a combination of that elitism and a need to tell me everything he knew about every little aspect drove me away. I couldn't stand grouping with him because I didn't want his constant commentary about blahblahblah, while he ignored the fact that I might have some indication of what he was talking about. Had they shut up, left me on my own, and treated me like another GUY, I would have been perfectly happy. I don't want special treatment, nor do I want to be babied into something. Had my SO tried that tactic, I would have looked elsewhere.
Aug 11th 2008 3:16PM Zangarmarsh was definitely pleasing to look at after coming from HFP...but Nagrand takes the cake!
Aug 6th 2008 5:47PM I apologize if this has been asked before but I have not been able to procure an answer--when you are eligible to create a Death Knight, does a character of level 55 (or over?) turn into the DK or is it a separate character? If you have a character over 55, will it allow you to create a DK immediately?
