Oct 6th 2010 7:27AM "I'm a little concerned that cats, bears or both will come in for a nerf as a result."
Feral getting nerfed horribly shortly after an expac's release. Don't have to be a psychic to predict that one. A historiam would tell you the same.
Jan 1st 2010 3:42PM when saying you will be discussing DPS in arenas you said "-- complete with MS Paint skills."
will that be the program Microsoft paint, or DPSers making sure their arena opponents are always painted in the Mortal Strike debuff?
Happy New Year.
Jul 21st 2009 11:56AM With the best PvP gear coming from arenas, arenas are defined as end game for PvPers.
Since arenas have a laddered ranking system, only the best reach high ratings regardless of the overall populations of the classes/specs attempting them.
Class/spec representation in the upper rankings of arenas is the closest thing WoW has to a "bottom line" for over all class balance.
Looking at demographics in the higher rankings of arenas shows some pretty glaring imbalances.
For anyone to trivialize arena rankings as meaningless would be akin to a corporate executive attempting to trivialize their company's bottom line as meaningless.
Until other forms of PvP become "end game" (such as possibly through the so called revitalization of battlegrounds) this is the way it is. Love it or hate it (your like/dislike of the arena system is usually dependent on what your favorite class/spec is, further highlighting the over all imbalance that exists).
Jun 29th 2009 9:30AM "the existing druid class could evolve."
yes please, prefferably along the lines of something other than resto being the PvP tree.
It would have to happen before SW:TOR is released for me to come back and see it though.
Jun 17th 2009 3:13PM "Blizzard has chosen to rise above the noise and ensure our slot at the top of both the DPS meters and PvP representation charts."
at least you're willing to admit to blizzard's catering to your class
May 21st 2009 4:03PM Yet another nerf to engineering on account of arenas?
the bombs, the lightning generator, the goggles, now the boots?
Crabman really doesn't like it when his rogue runs into engineers in the arenas does he?
May 14th 2009 12:55PM facts and numbers are more telling than opinions about perceptions.
For over-all class viability/fun-factor, overall class population is a telling statistic.
For over all PvP balance, class/spec statistics in the +2000 arena brackets are the closest we have to a "bottom line".
Contrary to what certain blizzard spokespersons would like us to believe, trying to justify imbalanced numbers through opinions of perceptions does nothing to balance the numbers.
Mar 18th 2009 12:38PM There are actually almost as many rogues with 2000+ arena ratings as there are death knight. And about 3 times as many rogues as their nearest melee dps competitor, warriors, with that arena rating. Retribution, then feral, then enhancenhancement all bring up the rear in terms of melee PvPers.
I'm sure all of those classes would LOVE to be drawn towards rogue level of melee PvP performance.
Feb 6th 2009 3:04PM Whe you say you fully expect to see blizzard announce changes to help non healing aspects of druid PvP, what gives you that expectation?
As much as I would love for feral to be arena viable, blizzard's track record on the subject prevents me from getting my hopes up.
Nov 2nd 2008 11:40AM @ Ktok you said:
"As for hybrids being better than a core class? No, it should never happen. They are *hybrids*."
as it stands, that sentiment is very much echoed by the devs in terms of PvP. But warcraft is not EQ. Warriors can and do raid as other than tanks. So why can't hybrids also perform multiple roles in PvP?
Why should one class/customer base be better at PvP than another class/customer base by default?
