How Blizzard mishandled the BlizzCon ticket situation {WoW}

Aug 14th 2008 12:40AM "I love how people think they know enough about how to handle these
types of situations." Pzychotix

Any organization that cannot do the math is doomed to fail. Use your
brains and do the math. You have 10.9 million people with computer
connections theres no way in hell any connection can handle that. So
you come up with an effective system to deal with it. For example, a
lottery for the chance to purchase tickets.

"You don't. You don't know crap. You don't even know what was going
on behind the scenes. Don't try to say that they could've done this,
or that, because you don't know their thought processes. More than
likely, they've thought it already. You're not smarter nor more
experienced than them. It's nice to berate them for their mistakes,
but hindsight is 20/20. They don't get that benefit." Pzychotix

Blizzard made their bed and is sleeping with it. Poor customer
service enrages people as you can see. that just added to the
problem. I sincerely doubt they(Blizzard) thought about this in a
million years. Also, I am merely pointing out the obvious. If you can
see it you are obviously blind. Foresight means they would have never
had this problem.

Who gives a crap about ticketmaster?

How Blizzard mishandled the BlizzCon ticket situation {WoW}

Aug 13th 2008 10:50PM I have a number of comments. Blizzard has 10.9 million people who play the game. A good percentage have disposable income. 10.9 million times 0.01 = 109000 people. 0.01 is 1 percent of people who play. Blizzard grossly underestimated the amount of tickets, venue, and response. I believe that they never believed that it would be this successful. This is poor CEO planning and development

As far as the customer service angle, Blizzard has horrfic customer service. From the mysterious account investigators to account recovery, to posting forum messages to tell people whats going on, its awefully pathetic. There is only one reason that they have a large fan base and it is the quality of the game. If this does not improve in leaps and bounds, Blizzard will find itself loosing customers as it does now with the ticket fiasco.

interest is waning in the game because of these issues as well as stale content. Business intelligence would dictate a position to retain subcribers due to the coming of Warhammer Online. It would also support an expansion to maintain interest in the game.

I believe that Blizzard will continue to make mistakes that will begin to erode subscriber base.

Aug 11th 2008 3:24PM Yeah Brilliant. Lets do the math. Theres 10 million people playing WOW? there is not enough bandwidth to handle it. People all over the world log on to "try" to get tickets. Blizzard ISP dies, website craps, and now we have a little angry party!!!!!!

Hang the programmers!!!! or feed them to the horde!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
